Since I was little I have enjoyed building and making things. I sometimes go to the hardware store and bring home some 2x4's and hammer something useful together. My interest in building and making things extends to my career also. I have put some effort in conducting my career so that I get paid to have fun (writing software).
For the last month I have been going to the gym every other day. Throughout my adult life I have cycled between being in reasonably good shape and not. I am definitely looking for someone whose lifestyle would match well with my staying in shape.
If you looked over the photos you saw the cane, and may have deduced that I don't walk so well, TRUE. What you may not have guessed is that, according to one friend, I have had a lot more adventures than most people. When I was very young I spent a lot of time in the desert on a motorcycle. I have traveled in Europe with a backpack. I did pack very light, and look for places with good public transport, or cheap taxi's. I once rode a bicycle the length of Vancouver Island (about 300 miles). If you are looking for someone to go on long walks with you, that is not me. I am good for a lot of other adventures.
I have traveled quite a bit in my life. I have been to Europe a few times, Japan, South America, and once to Africa. I have been to 46 of the 50 states. I made a recent trip as far as Yellowstone. Several of my profile photos are from that trip. One item somewhat on my bucket list is to take a trip to Alaska on tho Alaska Highway and Ferries back to Canada.

Date someone special from Alabama, United States. I've noticed that some of the ladies use this space as a blog or an opportunity to convey their thoughts regarding relationships. I would like to give that a shot as well. It may not make a difference except for some therapeutic value. Who knows? Anyway, I'm going to do this incrementally as I find trouble with Match's software sometimes when I try to update too much at once. So rather than try to describe what I like, I would like to tell you who I am. The next move is up to you.
Suppose the 1st thing I need to address is my Relationship status - "Currently Separated". Ouch! Might as well have said "Has Plague". It is perfectly understandable that the large majority of you want nothing to do with a man that is still technically married. Let's just be honest. A little of my story is that we were two people living in the same house, but not living together. That went on for years. One day you realize that there has to be more to life. You made a vow and want to stick by it, but life has other plans for you at times. This is one of those times and I believe we will both be better off in the long run. Been on my own for about a year and half, and now its up to the court system. Agonizingly slow. Be more than glad to go into more detail, one on one, for anyone interested. We've all struggled with relationships or we probably wouldn't be here.
UPDATE: I have a court date in mid August. Getting closer. Kinda wierd. Never thought I'd be discussing divorce proceedings on a dating site. Life is just that way sometimes.
So, assuming that I'm fully available and you find me wildly attractive, what could you expect?
Well, I'm 52, so I'm old enough to be a little old fashioned. I consider myself a gentleman in every sense and will treat you accordingly. However, I'm not a prude either. I enjoy cutting loose on the dance floor and a few adult beverages. I am very into PDA (a friend had to tell me what that stood for). Holding hands, lingering eye contact, soft touches. I don't much care to watch TV. Other than "Justified", there aren't any shows I watch regularly. I'd rather be on the tennis court, out to dinner, riding a bike, at the movies, or just going for a walk.
So what am I looking for? Hard to say really. Your friends say you are pretty, but you don't think so. Not low self esteem, you just see yourself as you. You work hard at the things that matter. Your family is very important. Your children (or grandchildren) light up your life. You like the outdoors. You love to laugh and have an odd sense of humor, or so people tell you. I think I'm starting to describe me, so I'll stop for now. You get the picture.
