I am independent and though self sufficient I miss that close connection with another kindred soul. I've been separated, then divorced for quite some time now and managed to raise two daughters and a son that are still trying to find their special place in this world but doing ok. I never dreamed I'd be single and dating again as I waited to marry and thought I'd made a right choice. There is truly good that comes from every bad situation, as my three children are living proof.
I live a healthy lifestyle and not into the bar scene, and usually spend most of my free time working on, around or in my home as there always seems to be something to complete, rebuild, repaint, re-landscape, remodel, or re something! Yes I'm in a rut and need to change my lifestyle (too much work and not enough play) and hopefully change it with someone that wants to share it with me.
My kids tease me that If I don't get out more I'll never meet someone, but I joke I'm waiting for the right repair guy to show up at my door. They of course know I rarely let a repair guy in as most I do myself...so...here I am...LOL
I work in the medical field....eye surgery at present so not a great place to meet new people as the average age is probably 75-80 and frequently vision impaired, need I say more?
I'm not looking for someone who is constantly on the go party type. With the right person, any place or any situation can be enjoyable and it's that last final companion I'm looking for. I'm not impressed with fame or fortune so I could care less what kind of car you drive or how many boy toys you have, or how big your house was built. A good sense of humor is a must and we all need to laugh at ourselves once in awhile. To see the irony of life and hopefully always be on a journey of self improvement but never preach it to others.

I definitely prefer to find someone that has raised kids as there is a common connection with parenthood that is hard to translate to non parents. Someone that takes care of himself eats healthy and hasn't succumbed to overweight at an older age.......

I work 3 days a week as a Contract Manager as an outside contractor. I enjoy spending time with with family and friends. I ike to take unexpected weekend getaways up an down the coast and enjoy camping and fishing (i can hook my own line and cut, scale and clean my own fish). If you are the jealous, controlling type; no need to read further, My are friends are friends for life and I cherish their friendship. I used to smoke off an on over the years; but quit 20 years ago and never looked back. I enjoy cooking and baking. I bake alot through November and December; but i give most of it away. I love dark chocolate, admit it is a weakness; I have a small piece daily - keeps me young at heart. I was very skinny as a teen and through my 40s to the point where I wished to gain a few pounds. And then Oh Crap I added on more pounds than I wanted; talk about "watch out what you wish for"; now on a journey to get some of them off. I am very healthy and enjoy exercising; walking/hiking, swimming, biking. I used to play racket ball and need to get back to it. I like to travel; go on cruises; visit other states, and countries. I love the beach; watching the sunrise and set and gazing at the stars and listen to the roar of the waves. I have lived in NY (born an raised), MA, MT; AZ; SO CA and now NO CA. I enjoy dining out and my palate has no boundries. I'm very down to earth; like to have fun and like who I am. I am independant, light hearted, loyal, honest, and financially secured. I like to cuddle; hold hands and am very romantic and passionate. I love sports; i am a 49r; laker; sharks; dodgers and oakland a's fan; but iI won't hold it against you if you are raiders; warriors, kings, giants or any other team fan. I have been told that I look years younger than my age. I want to be open to some new things that you might like...watching scary movies make me hide under the blanket....so staying in and watching movies or having friends over .... I like to go wine tasting....I just started a while ago and got myself a shirt that says "My wine tasting shirt" lol ....I also like surprises....not too big tho...lol ..I think cooking together for each other is fun to sometimes it ends up dancing in the kitchen....Music is on most of the time...
