Yes, I smoke. It's a nasty, smelly, unhealthy habit. I promised my son I would give it up this summer. I drink in moderation. I don't do distilled beverages, but like my beer (good European or craft-brewed) as well as a nice, dry red wine. I limit myself to two when I drink at all.

I'm really butt stupid when it comes to signals from women. When I was in grad school, a student (attractive young female) came in to ask me questions about the class I was the TA for. My office mate, a gay man, said afterwards, "she was hitting on you like crazy. Didn't you notice?" Nope, I hadn't. A gay man noticed that I was being hit on and I hadn't. Like I said, butt stupid.
