TL;DR version: well educated, active, adventurous, charming, and funny 26 year old. I asked my mom for adjectives. I omitted "special", "hunk", and "why do you only call when you need something".
Currently, I finished up my Master's in economics last Spring. I do plan on getting my PhD so I can teach, or sell my soul for a ridiculously large paycheck (not really). But right now I'm working for the family business, which is a fairly sizable farm. I've reapplied for my PhD for the Fall of 2012. Wish me luck!
So.. who am I? Well, I'm an avid runner. And by 'run', I mean 'waddle'. And by 'avid' and mean 'occasional'. And by 'occasional' I mean 'when I have time' and by that I really mean 'never'. I'm exceptionally good at sitting on a bench looking like I'm having a heart attack. But really, after doing a marathon a few years ago, I'm looking to break out into the ultrarunning scene, but I'm not sure which race for my inaugural. Right now, the Goblin Valley 50k in Utah is looking pretty enticing.
I'm also really getting into climbing - both ice and rock climbing. I climb usually 3x per week. Mostly I just want to climb outside more, which is tricky in these parts.. But I'm always willing to meet fellow climbers - especially if you know how to belay.
So really, I'm looking for an adventurer - someone with a little bit of wanderlust (OK - a LOT of wanderlust); someone who will spend a few weeks hiking all 483 miles of the Colorado Trail (which I plan to do in Summer 2012), or backpack across Europe on a bicycle, or spend a weeks exploring Yosemite, or Yellowstone, or Glacial National Park; someone who would spend a summer in Alaska climbing Denali with me.. or even something as simple as heading down to Shawnee National Forest for a long weekend of trail running, hiking, climbing, and camping.
But, at the same time - I also enjoy just staying in and lounging around on occasion. Playing Mario Kart or watching movies or TV definitely has its place, too (usually when the weather is really crappy or I have no money to go anywhere). I love going out to bars or restaurants - especially places with an impressive beer selection, and especially with ladies who like to dance and sing - because I like to get slizzerd and am fly like a G6.
So, if any of this sounds fun to you, and the word "can't" (or "slizzerd", for that matter) isn't in your vocabulary, you should definitely get in touch with me. If you've made it this far, maybe you're an adventurer - ready and willing to throw caution to the wind and live an amazing life. I can't promise an easy, and relaxing life. You get out of life what you put into it.

I find that you can learn a lot about a person by oberserving how they talk and interact with others. After awhile I can become quite talkative and outgoing (sometimes I just need a swift kick in the rear to get me going). And although I may seem reserved, you can talk to me about anything and I won't hold back.
My friends say that I am funny, nice, kind, sensitive and caring. I enjoy horseback riding, snowmobiling, traveling, reading (mostly fantasy and science fiction), archery, swimming, watching movies, and playing video games, to name a few things although I'll try almost anything at least once.
If there is anything else you want to know about me, all you have to do is ask!I want to meet someone that can hold an intelligent conversation for more than a minute. There's nothing better than when two people get so caught up in their conversation that they loose all track of time (and have to be asked to leave the restaurant because they're closing). I've found that this is a rare quality and it is something that I treasure.
It also doesn't hurt that they have a good sense of humor and can take a joke (and give them too). ;)

Meet single boy from Golden, United States. I've met people of all different shapes, sizes, hopes and dreams... Kinda like legos but with less plastic.
I often times have random thoughts and a lot of them are about dating. I wonder if people even think before putting up dating profiles. It would appear a large number of people only think about what they want instead of what they may be able to offer. For example, I was reading a headline the other day where a woman said she wanted a good looking, rich and funny man. I didn't think there was anything wrong with wanting that until I looked at her profile. she was 450 pounds had 5 kids by 5 different dads, lived with her mother and had neither a job or car. Needless to say, I was kinda shocked. I thought to myself, why would a good looking, rich and funny man want anything to do with you?
so in the spirit of my above rant here is what I have to offer.

Don't live with my parents
No kids (and more important, no kids by 6 different moms)
College educated
Never been to jail or arrested.... and no DUI's
In good shape (This means NOT FAT for the people who get confused when their 275 pounds and put athletic or average)
Decent looking
Funny
The list above is not a rule but more of a guideline to what I want. If you don't have any of the above (or very few of them) we will not be a good match.
MY ONLINE DATING Guide book: I got on here to meet/date people and not to "chat" "talk" "make friends" "email buddies" or anything else. With that goal in mind here are a few of the rules I've made for myself based upon first hand experience.
1. If you have exchanged 3-5 emails with a person and they still don't want to communicate outside the site(give out their phone number)/meet in person, then give up because its not going to work out. Getting to know someone takes a lot of time and requires face to face communication. Emailing someone back and forth for 3 months isn't going to help you "know" them any better because its very easy for someone to misrepresent themselves online (purposely or not). Its not worth your time to email someone for 3 months (or even 3 days) only to find out they are not what your looking for when you meet them for the first time. Special note: If your too scared to give out your number or to meet someone for whatever reason then you shouldn't be doing online dating.
2. My time is valuable and so is yours. Sometimes you have to reschedule a date and that’s fine. People get busy with work, kids ect. What is not acceptable is disrespecting someones time. For example, if you set up a date well in advance (week or more) and the other person cancels 2 hours before the date saying they need a rain check, it is then not ok for that person to say “Lets reschedule, I'll call you in a week when I have the time”. Yes this did happen and no I did not take them up on the rain check. If you really are so busy you can't even find the time to talk about a time you can meet me then your way too busy to go out with me or anyone else for that matter. You should just quit online dating all together until you can mange your time better or some how find a life.
3. I'm not on here to play games or to chase anyone. I'm here to meet people who are just as interested in me as I am in them. For example, if you give me your number and I call and leave a message, I will not be calling again until that message is returned. If you want to be chased then tie a steak around your neck and jump in the lion cage at the zoo.
4. I only want to date people who are able to have healthy adult relationships. Whats that means is, if have so much baggage you need a special permit for the wagon you drag it in, are so unstable that you take 5 different pills so you don't cut yourself or anyone else, a virgin or a person who doesn't believe is sex before marriage or just your regular run of the mill sociopath, we will not be a good match.

Date a guy from Golden, United States. I was born a raised in colorado and grew up on skis. I moved to tahoe about a year ago to be a ski bum for what turned out to be an epic winter. For most of the winter you can find me on my skis pushing myself to my limits. In the summer I'm counting the days till the next snow. I get out just as much rock climbing hiking trail running enjoying the lake and getting back into skydiving. I don't drink don't smoke but don't frown on others. I grew up playing baseball, through several moves around Colorado, and was lucky enough to continue that into college in Golden. Since then I have taken up skiing, which now takes up my winters and a good chunk of my paycheck!
I'm currently in a job that gives me a lot of time off and ability to travel, but I enjoy spending time in Colorado near friends & family. Family is very important to me, and I spend a good part of my free time helping out, whether that's doing home repair, baby-sitting my nephews, or driving the tractor on our family farm, and that is the most fulfilling part of my life.
I'm splitting time now between two states and racking up the frequent flyer miles. So if you've always wanted to take that trip to Banff, or sit on the beach in Cayucos, now might be the right time ...

I love to backpack, hike, and have recently taken up fly fishing. I also enjoy the city of Denver. I'm aways down for a, concert, ball game (or sporting event of any sort, a roller derby or rugby match are next on the list). I definitely prefer a dive bar or tap room to a club. If I'm out at a bar I like to be able to talk to the people I'm out with without having to scream over blaring music.

It is a blast to explore new trails and challenge yourself on the bike, and there is such a great community of people around it, and it is such a rush. I spend most of my free time being active outdoors, but also like to watch movies and find fun culturalish things to do around town like jazz in the park, museums, art stuff, and such. I love exploring new things, new places, new food, the sky is the limit. I am a very open minded person. And that is one of the most important things to me to find in a partner. I try to live a balanced life and stay busy yet keep everything in check, although this always proves hard to do, and I hope to have a partner that tries to do the same. I grew up skiing and just recently bought some AT gear to start getting into the backcountry, that has been a blast. I also like to snowshoe and have started cross country skiing so there are always options when the weather or snow gets bad! My longtime favorite activity has been hiking and climbing mountains, this is something I can always count on to enjoy no matter what. I have traveled in Europe and have a huge desire to explore more of the world. Top on the list are Japan, Spain, and New Zealand. I don't take life very seriously, always able to laugh at anything in most situations and make the best of it. I tend to be a little shy at first, but open up when I get to know someone. I think I'm funny, and other people seem to think so, but who knows if you would? I love listening to music and checking out different kinds of music, couldn't live without it. I have also been known to get some moves going on the dance floor once in while, watch out for this, it is fairly dangerous. I live in Golden to be closer to trails and the hills, but work in downtown Denver. I have a good job that I like most days, and it does not tie me down or take me away out of town that often at all, which is the best part. I enjoy cooking with other people and trying new recipes, although I don't cook much for myself unless it is something I can have as leftovers for a few days. I am dairy free and an transitioning to being gluten free. I have found they both affect my health a ton and although hard to do, it has been worth it. I am learning how to garden this summer and trying to see if I could ever feed myself from it, it has been interesting, mildly successful so I will try again I think.
As a start, I am looking for someone I feel comfortable around and have a connection with to build on. I hope that my partner and I share some interests and activities as it is important to me to spend time together experiencing some of the things we like. I'm not necessarily looking for someone that is as active as I am or anything like that, but as long as you like to get outside and do something that we can do together, we will get along! A little bit about me:
I have an excellent family, to include a fairly large extended family.
I have an outstanding memory which often produces a wealth of useless knowledge and at times can be a bit socially awkward. Forgive me if I know a few bands and stories that were before my time.
I spent eight years in the Army Reserves and was released in April 2010 (I say released because I was more than happy to leave with a soul and a few references intact.) That same year I graduated from the University of Wyoming with a degree in International Studies.
Currently, I am spending most of my free time in the library working on my TEFL certificate (Teaching English as a Foreign Language.) I have to go to the library so that I don’t lose focus.
I want to teach somewhere in Asia for a year or so. It is one of those things that if I don’t do now, I probably won’t do it all, and that would be something I most likely would regret.
My family jokes with me that I might make an excellent wife someday, I am always messing with something in the kitchen.
I am a consummate observer. Sometimes I feel a little selfish because I absorb more information than I put out.
