I also have a need for my space and understand a woman's need for hers. I don't play games and if that's your thing you can either check the drama at the door or just stay away. Independence is great too but part of being in a relationship is shedding that and learning to rely on the other person, if you can't let go and learn from the past then you'll keep living your past and lose out on the future and I don't believe in doing that.
Life really is one big joke for me. If you can't laugh at yourself or the situations you're in then what else is there to do? I understand some things need to be taken seriously but for the most part I can make a joke out of anything to put a smile on your face. I also have a little sarcastic streak that goes with my sense of humor so if you can't handle being picked on a little or are just thin skinned in general then you might not want to bother.
Ultimately I am looking for the woman I could start a family with and grow old with. If having a "family" isn't in your agenda or you're doubting of the fact that this is what I really want then that's too bad. I love kids, I love animals and I could love the right woman the right way because I know real love is a choice, not just a fleeting feeling of infatuation.

I've lived in Minneapolis/St. Paul for 8 years before moving to Colorado for my career. I miss the Twin Cities area. There was always something going on whether it was a play, musical, museum showings, or a concert. I'd really like to meet someone that can appreciate those things with me.
As far as what I'm looking for in a date, hmmmm.... I guess sharing the same interests is important, but we definitely do not need to like all the same things. Faith is important. Not necessarily the same faith I have, but at least belief in something. Confidence and independence are attractive qualities to have. Manners are also very important. It's not a great feeling being associated with someone that's rude and disrespectful. Music is a huge part of my life whether it's singing karaoke or going to concerts. I will usually always have music playing no matter what i'm doing, especially while driving. I've never understood how people can drive in silence.
Oh yeah, I have a steady job. I'm an Army EOD tech (think "The Hurt Locker"), so you'll need to be ok with that. I have no plans of leaving a job I love anytime soon.

I was most recently in Montana just being my usual ski bum self and decided to go to nursing school. I am currently finishing my prereqs for nursing school at pikes peak. I dont think I will live in Colorado Springs too long for I want to head back down to the southwest sometime in the next few years.
