Date men and women from United States / Colorado / Beaver Creek, 55 year old

Date single man from Colorado, United States. I'd like to meet someone to share dates and activities, adventures and fun, all leading, hopefully, to a long-term committed relationship. I prefer MaryAnn to Ginger, North Face to Versace, Subaru to Lexus. I'd like to meet someone who lives, or would consider living, in Colorado year-round. To meet someone who loves to ski would be a huge bonus. Skiing is my passion and it would be great to meet someone who knows the unique pleasure that comes from a great day on the mountain.
After five years of coming to Colorado from Minnesota just for the winter months, I have now moved to Avon, at the base of Beaver Creek Resort, and made it my home. What a gorgeous place! Winter finds me out seeking powder on the slopes and sharing my passion for skiing as a ski instructor, providing private lessons to adults, children and families, and also to people with physical or cognitive disabilities. In the summer I enjoy hiking, biking, backpacking, camping, concerts, rides and trips on my quiet BMW motorcycle, and more. I umpire youth baseball and adult softball, and I'm learning fly fishing.
I'm easy-going, a good listener and conversationalist and a genuinely warm and engaging companion. Perceptive and responsive. Cheerful with a great sense of humor. Genuine and comfortable with who I am. I'm a bit playful and flirtatious, always kind and thoughtful. Romantic, gentle. I'm curious by nature and easy to talk to. You'll notice my warmth and sense of humor and the fact that I am right there, in-the-moment with you, in touch and engaged.
I love to be active and am somewhat adventurous by nature. I like to stay fit and take care of myself, but am not fanatical about it. I look for fun, interesting things to do (and am pretty good at it!). All balanced with a true love of pure downtime, relaxing, lingering, talking, being.
I enjoy live music of almost any type and go to concerts and other live performances regularly. I prefer small, intimate venues, but go to big arenas for some of the bigger tours. Locally, I like Ford Amphitheater, Vilar, State Bridge, and Rancho del Rio.
In addition to sharing dates and activities, it would be great to have a special someone to crash and relax with at the end of a long day or week, knowing you'll love the plan for that night, or just making a special meal at home, enjoying a good bottle of wine, and curling up on the couch for a fire and a dvd. I love to cook and share time together in the kitchen.
I love a curious mind. Someone who asks questions, is genuinely interested in what they've asked, and is skilled in the art of two-way conversation.
I think it's important that a couple share a common view of the world and about life in general and how people treat each other. I'm not a political person, but our current president got my vote last time and will get my vote again this fall. I think without that common view together, it can be difficult for a couple to share and enjoy something as day-to-day simple as reading the newspaper together or talking about the news of the day.
P.S. Here are a few quotes that kind of sum things up for me:
"Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways with a thoroughly worn out body, grinning from ear to ear, screaming....."WHOO HOO, what a ride!" -- anon.
"Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you did not do than by the ones you did. So throw off the bow lines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the tradewinds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover." -- Mark Twain
"If you give up good wine, strong coffee, dark chocolate and great sex, you don't actually live longer, it just seems longer." --anon
