Been contacted by a few ladies that aren't even in the US, but said they are in the next town! Just for the record, I am real, I live in Battlement Mesa Colorado, and everthing in my profile is the truth. I dont have too many pictures because I'm a guy and we usually don't have many pictures of ourselves, if we even take any at all! Things I notice first about someone are their eyes and their smile. The eyes show their soul, and the smile shows their true sincerity. Eye contact is very important when you first meet someone, and if they smile at me I know we will hit it off. I'm a bit old fashoned at times, with traditional values. Definitly not a serial dater out rolling the dice every night. I'm just looking for someone who I can be friends with first and then who knows? Someone who is not afraid of communication. Someone who will talk to me about her fears and concerns so we can face them as a team. Not be so selfish as to seek another or use a crutch just to get by. My favorite saying is "Anger is a waste of emotion". I think a woman should be treated with respect, kindness, and honesty, but I also believe it goes both ways. Especially the honesty part! I have learned that you should just treat others how you want to be treated. I am not so old fashoned that I don't believe a lady can't make the first move though. I'm up for most any activity. I really like to please those I care about, and I know how to take my time when it's important to do so. I think I'm a pretty good cook, typical guy food like breakfast, steaks, and BBQ. I make a mean rack of ribs on my smoker. I do like to eat! I think true peace is a cup of strong camp coffee with brown sugar and real cream in the early morning while listening to birds sing, elk bugle, and the smell of bacon cooking and sagebrush as the dew comes off.
I have 2 kids, 18 and 16, and they are my purpose and legacy in life. We are a family and I see my role as dad as the most important thing for the next few years. I'm not looking for a mother for them, they have a great mom now, just someone to help me be complete so they can see what a good relationship should be. Kids are a true gift from God, and if you have any, they are welcome as well.
Even though I seem pretty outdoorsy I do enjoy doing other things like museums, antiques, going to plays, ect. A trip to the big city is a nice change of pace once in awhile but its always good to get back home. My dream someday is a place in the country where the grandkids can come and see what life is really about. My fondest memories are out on the farm as a kid! My job in the energy industry keeps me busy, so when I do get time off I want to make the most of it.
I think I'm pretty down to earth and well grounded, funny how turning 50 makes you realize a few things about what brought you to this point. My life experience has given me an appreciation of many things. We all have baggage that we must carry, the secret is in figuring out how to throw the trash out and keep whats important (to each of us). I'm trying to take good care of myself and it would be nice if we could motivate each other in this aspect. Walking, hiking, yard work are my ideas of a workout. Not much of a gym guy, I prefer to see some type of results from an activity. I have a treadmill but I really prefer being outdoors to it.

Date someone special from Colorado, United States. I am a native Texan who has always wanted to live in a mountain state, and in 2009 I made it to Colorado. Divorced for 2 1/2 years after my only marriage of 23 years. Two grown boys, one in Texas, one currently in South America.
