Date men and women from United States / Colorado / Aurora, 51 year old

Date men and women from Aurora, United States. Under-construction.
Have you ever started the day seeing it as a blank canvas. What would you do if you could start all over?
Starting over is where my story begins. My comfortable corporate job left the state just as I was becoming the primary caregiver for someone I loved. More on that later. Now I am launching a new career as a network engineer and I am also getting pretty good at being a landlord.
I know friendship and love comes in stages. The tricky part is that the good stuff follows the goofy early stages. I was in love once and it was the best two and a half days of my live. Just kidding. My point is you have to spend time together and share experiences both good and bad to really know someone.
I have a big heart and always route for the underdog. I am a big softy yet tough as nails when facing a bully. I love being in a partnership and I think life is best served when shared.
Did anyone see the movie The Razor's Edge staring Bill Murry? In this move Bill dedicates his life to living a deeply mindful life which takes him to India and beyond. Here's the kicker. In the end he still does not get the girl.
I am involved in the local yoga community and I feel it will continue to be a part of my new life. My new job is demanding but I leave it at the office at the end of the day. I like to balance my yoga practice with cross country running and I am trying to be the best man I can be. Only time will tell whether I get the girl.
I've lived in the Denver Area for the past twenty years so it is easy to find out if I am for real or not. If interested send me a wink.
Now if you have read this far I want to reward you with a few poems that I like.
"If", by Rudyard Kipling
"Call Me by My True Names", by Thich Nhat Hanh
"Do not go gentle into that good night", by Dylan Thomas

Meet a man from Aurora, United States. CAR WRECK 7/7/12 Vicodin...Bear with me please. Trouble walking and I don't have a car right now! Anyway, if I sent you an email it might be funny. It might just be a compliment. Maybe a link to a song on youtube... And if I put you on Favs...It means I can wait until you post more PICs and/or edit your profile. I am NOT working my way through a list.
What do I want? A selected woman to explore friendship, and laughter; an exclusive summer love affair, possibly leading to a perpetual relationship of fun, respect, intimacy and communication. Bryan Adams has a song titled, "Inside Out," and I'd like you to listen to it.(Skip the video)
Hmmm A "keeper." A woman to make me forget that I have a list of requirements to begin with. One good woman...Honest, trustworthy, responsible, sensitive, affectionate, playful, CALM, communicates physically and verbally and is open to me emotionally, kind to animals and other people. A woman that likes to fall asleep with her head on my chest and lets me keep her safe. Perfection is certainly not expected.
Someone I can laugh with...that helps me laugh and inspires me...Not a comedienne, but a woman with a sense (Sense) of humor and can laugh at stuff even if nobody else understands. I love it when you just feel good and crack yourself up. I don't care if you know a single joke. I'm not insensitive but I have an idea of what is truly important - and I can be unfiltered.
So, come home, pour a glass of wine, kick your shoes off, sit in my lap, hold my hand, arms around my neck and relax. Sit with me, cuddle, walk, talk...I want to start a conversation with you that lasts the rest of our lives, and with periods of silence as comfortable as warm gloves.
I love suits, ties, soft clothes, and slightly starched shirts...Dark suits, pastel colored button-downs, and polos. Tasteful cologne... (No, I have never slept with a man). Blue is my favorite color for clothes. I learned how nice these could be when I lived in Germany. I gave this up to raise children and you most often find me in jeans and a T-Shirt now. I still have my "Sub" but I would give it up in a heartbeat for my kids.
I don't know how to describe my body type right now - "Average" of what? I quit smoking on 4 July 2011 and put on 18 pounds. Where? Not sure. But we saw my shadow at the dog park and somebody shouted, "Six more months of Winter!!" (Found it - It's my booty - I now have an 18 pounder. I tried to weigh my tummy too, but the associates at Walmart kept helping me off the floor. Guess I might have to buy my own scale...Nahhhh)
I love music and have at least one favorite in each genre but RB is my fav. I'm just not much for Jazz (Except KENNY G), Blues (Except for "The Black Keys") and Country. My problem is that my career as a soldier did not leave me much time for tracking the Top-40. So there is some music, oldies especially, that I am just now discovering...I just discovered Shakira! (Tu...That is a beautiful song) "Creep" by TLC is incredible. Cuando Me Enamoro by Enrique Iglesias is nice too.
SO I dislike the weather in Colorado intensely and want to leave. Come with me. There isn't a plan...I am probably moving to Florida, Texas, Louisiana, Mexico, Costa Rica, or Brazil. I need nice weather 365 days a year.
NOT ON MATCH RIGHT NOW. Please wink if you like my profile. I CAN see winks, but nothing else. Wink! Hehe Thanks. :)

Date a soulmate from Aurora, United States. I know that everyone who joins Match has to somehow try to describe themselves in a few paragraphs...so here goes...
Young at heart...what does that really mean? If it includes a willingness to try new and different experiences, lifelong learning, trying to improve myself...learning to be a better Dad, friend, lover, son, and brother....then I think I meet a reasonable definition. At least I like to think so.
I’m a medical professional who learned the hard way that excessive work hours are not worth it! I moved to the Denver area in the summer of 2011 which allowed me to greatly reduce my “on call” schedule...a welcome change after many years of too many hours...
I went through a divorce 3 years ago, and am thankful to finally feel healed and free from bitterness. It was not always easy.
I have two great kids, who are turning out to be really wonderful young adults. My son is in college out of state, and my daughter is a senior in high school. I was incredibly blessed to have them live with me full time for the first two years after my divorce, but now am on my own. I am thankful for that time with them as a full time Dad, and miss them now that we don’t spend as much time together. However, they will always be a big part of my life, and we have a great time when we’re together for vacation, travel, or just hanging out at home...
Most people think I’m a bit younger than I really am. Not much grey hair yet; just a little dusting. For my 50th birthday I took an intentionally strenuous backpacking trip with my teens at high altitude in the backcountry of Grand Teton National Park. It was a great trip and maybe I just wanted to prove to myself I am still up for adventure...I am! Recent travel to Hawaii, Greece, and Turkey (Ephesus and Istanbul) has also wetted my appetite for more travel...
Favorite places I’ve been so far would be Maui, Istanbul, Moab, and Jackson Hole. Looking forward to snorkeling in Belize this summer and perhaps a trip to Italy next Spring...
Music? I cannot honestly say I like “all” kinds...but I do like rock, jazz, and classical. Not too into country although there is some I like. Rap, not so much! I still like music loud at times, and played the drums for many years...in bands from jazzy progressive rock to contemporary worship.
Favorite foods? Sushi, Mexican, and Italian...although there is just something about a rare steak on the grill with a good Cabernet that makes life worthwhile!
I like to cook, and do a decent job with pasta sauce from scratch (garlic, onions, sausage, pepper, mushrooms, etc) as well as chinese in a wok. Without a doubt, it’s nicer to cook for two (or more) rather than just myself!
Photography is one of my great passions. There is something wonderful about getting that great “shot” whether it’s looking at the back side of The Grand Teton from 10,000 feet, or trying to capture the cool archtecture of the buildings on Santorini.
TV I like? I am a bit of a news hound, but like CSI and crime dramas, mystery, and sitcoms like Modern Family and the Middle. But sometimes a week or two go bye and I notice that I haven’t watched any of them. There are times when a good book fills the evening better than TV ever could.
Who am I looking for?
Another young at heart soul in a woman to spend the rest of my life with...of course!
Someone to share the good and the bad; the fun days, and also the days when you need someone to just listen. Life isn’t always easy or fun, and we all need someone to have our back...to be there for us when work or life is stressful...and to celebrate when things all seem to fall into place. Someone who will inspire me. Someone who can nurture and also allow others to be nurturing too...we all need to be loved!
Do you feel “old” at 40 or 50? I hope not because we have a lot of living to do!

Meet people from Aurora, United States. When my grandfather was in his 60's he decided to become a model - and he became one! I live my life with the same attitude, confidence, and determination: Anything is possible and there are always options.
My interests range from day hikes in the mountains to attending the Colorado Symphony Orchestra on a Saturday night, from traveling to new adventures to staying at home and watching movies. You should know that despite a healthy lifestyle, I'm a self-diagnosed OREO-holic. (Hey, we all have our vices.) I'm spontaneous but can be relied upon to always have a safety plan in the back of my head and I'm tenacious when it comes to learning more about something that sparks my interest. My humor is witty to some, dry or geeky to others and always corny to my son, but we laugh--and groan--a lot at my house.
So here it goes. You are the one if you love big, sweeping kisses, getting lost in flannel sheets, and then falling asleep in each other’s arms. You like the outdoors--walking, hiking, and occasionally camping. You get bonus points for liking classical music. It helps if you like holding hands in the car and reading next to each other in bed. Character and intelligence are required. Mostly, though, you should have a positive outlook. Life is full of laundry and cleaning and grocery shopping but anything can be fun with the right attitude and a little playfulness.
And, yes, I look just like my pictures.

Meet a man from United States. I want to create a friendship and have a few laughs along the way.
My passion is sports and I love to watch a game, at home or at the sports bar, a good cold beer only enhances the experience! I'm a non-smoker who would appreciate the same in a potential partner in crime!! Open minded and easy going, ready for an adventure on the spur of the moment.
I like to travel, I consider myself the Road Warrior, yes the Mad Max type!! I have driven a few hours to be with a friend just before they got on a plane to go to the desert and driven 1800 miles in 27 hrs to spend time with family. Enjoy being outside in the snow, the sun and the beaches too! Its all good. Enjoy comedy clubs, exploring new places.
Life is meant to be shared, I'd just like to have someone to do things with....dinner, movies, museum, parks, beach, read the paper over coffee on Sunday morning, give and receive a massage after a day. And yes, I'll even go shopping with you. You know...do those things couples do TOGETHER!!
I love to touch, cuddle and I give fabulous hugs.
Walking with a friend in the dark is better than walking alone in the light ~ Helen Keller
I'm not looking to get married tomorrow, next week, next month or even this year. But I'm not playing games either!! Really, I want to get off of Match.com because I've met someone who we both enjoy being with each other, acting silly, who loves to cuddle, dances with me in the grocery store for no reason and we both accept each other....even with our own strengths and faults.
Is that you?

Date a soulmate from United States. I like to be physically active during some of my free time. I take advantage of the beautiful Colorado outdoors and enjoy hiking, cycling, golf and skiing among other things. I also enjoy relaxing with a good book, watching movies and am a bit of a foodie. A good meal with a tasty wine or a refreshing beer makes me a happy guy. I'm even happier when dessert is you and me. I'm looking for ladies with similar interests.

Date someone special from United States. I’m easy going, like to laugh at myself and enjoy doing most anything outdoors.
I m a soon to be divorced Dad of three wonderful boys, two at home and in high school and one in the dorm at CU (home for the summer).
During the day I enjoy biking in the summer, skiing in the winter and a little running all year round. I have a tandem bike that I’ve used to ride across Iowa with my kids over the past several summers. I’m a descent skier, but I always seem to be walking up the hill to get my skis after I’ve popped out of my bindings. I started taking golf lessons in April.
Although I try to stay active during the day, my evenings tend to be laid back. A nice dinner followed by a movie, the theater or maybe just a long walk. I love all kinds of food whether it’s the taco truck down the street or Del Frisco’s. I look forward to the adventure of trying someplace new.
I’m an eternal optimist and always try to find the bright side of things: Flight cancelled due to snow? Take a train! Anchor motor burned out on the sail boat? More time for Ouzo in Greece. Did I mention I learning to play golf?
I enjoy cooking, but I’m not a chief. My homemade pizza has taken years to perfect.
I have always loved to travel, from camping in the mountains to week long getaways. Yellowstone, Moab, London, Paris, Rome and New York have all be fun.
Although I've done a lot of different thigs (bungee jumping to zip lines), I'd like to meet someone that can continue to open my eyes to new ideas and experiences.
P.S. Sorry about the hair, most it left about 15 years ago

Meet single man from United States. Retired Marine, who is personable, follows through, and has a positive attitude. I have been around the world and seen some of it best, and I have seen it's worst. I am a red white and blue patriot and love my country (and I've seen most of it too :-) I'm am easy going, have a sense of humor and can easily laugh at myself. I discovered a long time a go I am less than perfect, so if the occasion should ever arise, (and I'm sure it will once you get to know me) I invite you to laugh right along with me.
I am passionate about the theater, my craft and my work, and I work very hard at it. I'm equally comfortable on stage as back stage designing and building props or painting scenery and doing special effects. If you like the arts, I promise we have something in common.
I like jeans, T-Shirts and my leather jacket, but am easlily as comfortable in slacks and a sports coat or even a suit if the occasion warrents it. I'm happiest when I'm being creative, or riding my motorcycle (hense the leather jacket part) through the rockies or out on the open road.
I'm attracted to bright happy personalities, who are laid back, easy going and who are interested in a fun lighthearted friendship. I would like to meet someone who would like to share coffee, breakfast, lunch, or dinner, a movie, some live theater, weekend rides on my motorcycle in the mountains, or a trip to the museum, and some stimulating conversation. I'm looking forward to building a friendship FIRST! I'm a gentlman with old fashion values and I will treat you like a lady. I have no agenda other than to converse, laugh, or maybe hold hands and share a hug... Whaterever happens after that will depend a lot on if we share that magic chemistry. If we do not, hey, no harm, no foul. Hopefully at least we will have shared some good conversation and laughs, some good coffee or wine, maybe seen a good play or movie, and we've each made a new friend.
Of course we are all looking for chemistry, but chemistry or not, my hope is that I at least make you smile and that you feel better about life for having met me.... I did not write the following two quotes, but they fit my philosophy about life;
"Live simply. Love generously. Care deeply. Speak kindly. Leave the rest to the powers that be"........"People will forget what you said, People will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel !"
If any of that sounds interesting, send me a wink, or an e-mail and lets chat.
