Obviously my favorite activity is reading. I do enjoy many other activities - movies, eating out, Rockies, other sports, even camping and more (except wine tasting - what is the deal with everyone on dating sites being 'into wine tasting'?). However, I take a book (at least one) where ever I go.
I am a military brat. I have no attachment to any geographic location. My home is where my books are. I don't feel comfortable in a room that has no books. It's comparable to a vampire being unable to rest in their coffin unless it's partially filled with dirt from their home (depending on the vampire mythos).
I have other idiosyncrasies. I'm a geologist that has a rock/mineral/crystal/fossil collection. I'm a 'technically endowed' computer geek that often plays computer games. However being Gemini, there is also the part that at one time played a very high level of amateur tennis and taught tennis for many years. Before a shattered ankle and losing the cartilage in my knees, I did many bicycle tours (long distance bicycling) including bicycling from Denver to Grand Junction by myself in order to participate in the first ever "Ride the Rockies" - riding from Grand Junction back to Denver. I dabble at reading tarot cards and like to make natal charts for people (astrology). I love to learn and egotistically would call myself a scholar. LOL, for what it's worth, I even qualified for Mensa.
At the moment with budgeting I live comfortably on a fixed income. (Translated that means I can afford to buy books.) But that fixed income will only stretch so far so I'm not any woman's sugar daddy.
I am looking for an extraordinary woman. Someone who can understand my love of books and not be jealous of it. Someone who reads or at least doesn't mind if I read. Someone who doesn't mind if there are books in most rooms in the house or apartment. Ideally, a woman who has her own library and love of books and wants to meet a man for the eventual 'library merger' (no innuendo intended....yeah, right!)
Education is nice however because I have taught myself so much in life, I don't place much importance having a degree or a diploma. Intelligence and education can come from many sources.
While I appreciate a beautiful woman (I am male after all), I don't let appearance overshadow what's important. A person is the sum of their spiritual, emotional and mental states. This person is contained in a physical 'wrapper'. But the physical 'wrapper' is not the person. Often a beautiful 'wrapper' does not house a beautiful person. But a beautiful person can be housed by many different forms of physical 'wrappers' and this beauty will show through no matter what form the 'wrapper' takes.
It may sound like I'm asking a lot. I don't expect much response to this profile. But I'm being honest with you. I have a lot to offer a lady - a sense of humor (whether you appreciate it or not is up to you), affection, touching, cuddling, etc. I offer you freedom to live your life as you want to, share in mine and share yours to the degree you find comfortable. I'm a long hair ex-hippie that read too much Heinlein. I have no desire to control or run anyone's live. I'm not jealous or possessive.
Due to neglect and 6 years of prescription medication that slowed my metabolism, I'm overweight. I'm three weeks into a workout routine with a trainer. I'm exercising at least once a day for 20 to 30 minutes. The last 5 days I have exercised for over 1300 calories. It's a long way to my target weight but I have a goal and determination to make it.
