I admit to a number of quirks, which I hope carry more "charm" than annoyance. For instance, I'm given to malapropisms which might be funny if they were meant to be, and not truly accidental. (I once told people that I'd had my kids by circumcision--as opposed to Caesarian section. I get my glasses from my obstetrician) I'm a retired advertising copywriter by trade; also a onetime humor editor, so stuff seeps out. I can keep quiet, though, since care of another ego is important to me (late husband an artist!) Even "constructive criticism" can be caustic--I don't believe in bruising your muse.
I enjoy putting people at ease, with laughs or hugs wherever possible/needed. Good listener, good gabber. Reliable friend. Healthy, energetic, gregarious if somewhat reclusive, plenty goofy. Never petty, or confrontational though I have my opinions, of course. I do have a lot of respect for differences—although, to tell the truth, these days extreme conservatives are something of a challenge...
A little damaged from the past (I far prefer my second childhood to my first), but I'm traveling light (no baggage), and I'm happy. Very fortunate to live as I do, and where, with both daughters and their families within walking distance! My life is, at its most basic, a combination of grandkids, volunteering, and writing/art projects. At its fullest, travel, more travel, spontaneous get-up-and-go's, peace and justice activities, "little parties" at home, and you to lean against.
But enough about me:
Who are you? And where, and how soon can you get here? Having lost my husband of nearly forty years to brain cancer in 2006, I'm now hoping for the friendship, companionship, love, of a guy with an open heart (not surgically). No meanness, no sarcasm. I have to say (again) that a sense of humor is my greatest hope for compatibility; it speaks of intelligence, world view, comfort level with individuals, and other key attributes.
I hope you're not vain, grudge-holding, silent, or always right, but do be withdrawn when you need to be, and go ahead and indulge your love for whatever sports, activities you're into; If I can't join you (mountain climbing, say...) I'll appreciate time on my own. Companionship, great. Co-dependency, not so much.

. British originally - to be specific - Welsh. however have lived in the USA for over 30 years and am a citizen. Have the typical British humor. friends call me a 'ray of sunshine' that's because I laugh a lot and love to find joy in life. Do not get switched on to negative people, so if you are a negative peresonality then do not approach me.
Would like to find a male companion to share movies, theater,lunches and hugs with.
Love to read and work at a library book shop and belong to a reading group amongst other activities, Have two dogs and two cats - all rescues. If you do not like animals, then I do not approach me. church going but not overly religious, but I study Budhism.
