Just moved to Ventura County from DC last week. I was born and raised in Pittsburgh (The Burgh) and I lived in Philadelphia for 22 years and DC for 6 Years. I am a blue collar baby that has worked very hard to get where I am today so I greatly appreciate everything. I have been an athlete my entire life and I exercise and play sports regularly....This will not change. I am very attracted to nice people who treat others the way they want to be treated. If you look down on others (i.e. Waiters, Waitresses, House Cleaners, Janitors, etc.) as if you are better than they are, things probably won't work out with us. This is a first for me ... as I've also read of others, so I am not sure what to put out there. (I blame this on my friend's constant pushing me to put myself out here!) Although I am between 5'9" - 5'10", I can most times be seen wearing heels that put me 6' ! [This is for my friends out there who keep asking me to "lose the heels" ... but that's just me! If I'm at the beach, I'll gladly lose the heels! ;o) If you would prefer not to date a tall gal, then please keep on searching.] ;o)
My two kids are grown, with my youngest having recently joined the Navy (very proud of her, of course!). Spent my years being the best mom I could possibly be, and being very involved with all of my kids' interests, sports, activities, etc. Now it's time I invested a little in myself! Don't get me wrong, I am still very much a great mom, and love hangin' with my kids, but I'm now making time for me and am getting out once and a while to meet new friends!
Although I've been known to enjoy some finer things in life, I am pretty down to earth as well. Luxury, fine dining, theatre, are all great every now and then, but I also enjoy letting my hair down a bit with off-roading, pro-sporting events (all kinds), concerts, quiet evenings kicking back at home, or having friends over for a casual BBQ!
In the past few years, and in my 40's, I've gotten my Motorcyle license with my daughter, bought my very first sport bike (the three of us--son, daughter, and I--go riding together!), learned how to snow ski (still very much a novice, but this went much better for me that snowboarding -- ate way too much snow when trying to learn how to board!), and pretty much am just having fun!
I like all kinds of music (classic rock, RB, pop, classical, jazz, country, etc.... not so much on heavy metal, though!), love concerts, and lately am trying to improve on my two-stepping and occasionally hit up the local pop/rock dancing spots just to get out of the house, hang with friends, meet some people and relieve some stress. Great workout! ;o) I work hard but make time to spend with family and good friends, and always looking to make new ones.
