Too often people think that one other person is going to complete them. I am looking for someone whose life I can add to and who will add to my life. I am currently teaching English in Japan and intend to return to the United States in August or September of 2012. I am training to be a secondary school teacher and will go back to finish my Preliminary Credential.
I am looking for someone that is not afraid to travel. I personally would love to do a two or three month tour of Southeast Asia. Or anywhere else for that matter :) I have been to almst all of the major national parks west of the Mississippi but I really want to go back and see them again, road-trip anyone?
I am grateful for all the people that have supported me for the year and a half that i have been abroad. They are part of the reason I am coming back. I value strong ties to family and friends. One of the other reasons is there is nowhere to truly dance. I love salsa, bachata, and cha-cha; even though I am probably going to be at a beginner level when i get back it will be fun to go dancing again. Two of my favorite places are Olivia's in Burbank and the Monsoon Cafe in Santa Monica. I also love to try new things. Part of my philosophy is I will try almost anything once.
I want someone that makes decisions; they do not let what they don't know get in their way. Decisions can be revised with new information but, decisions can still be made. No one knows all the information but if you refuse to decide based on what you do not know, you have already failed.
Other than ties to family and friends and the ability to make decisions I am looking to get to know a person based on how they are not a list of qualities. I don't think you can truly get to know someone if you already have a list of all the things that you expect, doing that way almost guarantees that no one can match perfectly or you end up with someone for the wrong reasons.
I realize that me being in Japan at the moment is a bit of a turn off but I think of it as a challenge to myself to get to know someone through phone and e-mail conversations.
