I am seeking an energetic, positive, loving woman that I can give my best too. I live each day for all it’s worth, and don’t spend time in the past or worrying about the future. I am experiencing a wonderful episode in my life and enjoying a newfound peace and joy. I am setting the intention of meeting a wonderful woman and creating the ideal scene of a loving, committed relationship that radiates unconditional love.
You will find me to be industrious and fully engaged in all that my life has to offer. I smile easily, thus my nick-name “Smilin’ Dave”, and like to find the best in most any situation. I have a young daughter, age 8. She is such a ray of sunshine and love, and is at the age where it is critical for me to be the very best Dad. I put my best efforts into parenting and make sure I am always available for her; however, she does not live with me so I get alternating weekends and 5 weeks a summer. She is precious to me.
For exercise I like to walk, swim, bike, and ski in my free time. I am very creative and dabble in stone sculpture and rustic furniture, and operated a small chair making business in the 90’s. I can cook very well, but rarely use a recipe, except for baked goods. I cannot remember a day in the last two decades where I have said “I’m bored”.
If you are a big sports fan, sorry, but you will never get me to sit in front of a TV and watch sports. However, I would go to a sports event, but would not make a practice of it. I am certified as a PADI Rescue Diver, but prefer warm water dives. So, Caribbean, Costa Rica, South Pacific, anytime.
Being of service to others is important to me, and I make sure that when I am asked to help, the answer is always “yes” and “how”.
Travel has been part of my story since childhood. My family moved to Belgium in the 60’s and my career has taken me all over the world. My family is from Ohio and that is where they all still reside, so don’t worry, there are not a lot of family functions that I will drag you to. ;) I do go back in October for a family reunion and take my daughter. I love the fall colors, the hay rides and bonfire at my sister’s farm, and trips through Amish country.
My BS is in the biological sciences and I am a first year student in a Masters program in Spiritual Psychology offered by the University of Santa Monica. University Administration is my full-time job, and I still do health and safety consulting (part-time), primarily to the petroleum industries in California
Being from the Midwest, I was raised to be self sufficient, and am able to fix just about anything. I have renovated several homes, my first being 145 years old. I can fix anything in a house, as well as most mechanical devices including cars.
