Friday, October 28, 2011 I and other poets gave a poetry-reading on Domestic Violence in a Santa Rosa, California bookstore. You would be proud of us. We exposed the needless suffering of woman at the hands of hurt and bitter men.

From the cliff of jumping-off, I watch

Today I received my points for a course in the writing of poetry. I have been locked inside myself for about the last three weeks waiting for the examiners to assess my ability. I have never invested so much time and effort into completing one course in my life. At the end of the course I wished for one thing---that of an exhausted tutor and an even more exhausted me. I got my wish and I got my points. Here Here!

Meet a woman from California, United States. Like many of you, I have had an interesting life filled with career opportunities, cherished friendships, adventures traveling, and loving relationships. I have climbed many mountains and plan to climb many more. I am looking for that love to share the ride and have fun with me. I love adventure by any name as long as it isn't death defying. Darn! Travel enlarges my world view and I love being an independent traveler. I have spent vacations in most of Europe, many Caribbean islands, Tahiti, Tonga, Fiji, Australia, Tanzania, Jordan, and the Greek Islands. My bag is always packed and I am ready to go..
Living in the wine country takes me back to my growing up years on a ranch where I raised Tennessee Walking horses. Before I became a city girl, I was a country girl. I have always had a passion for gardening, farm to table cooking, interesting people and entertaining, and now I can indulge myself pursuing these passions. I love the performing arts, classical and popular music, travel, and now bring these interests into the main focus of my life along with being active in various sport activities that were often sidelined during my career years. Rather than slow down in my "third act," I play more, spending more time with golf, dancing, kayaking, Alpine skiing, hiking in Sonoma and Marin, and traveling far and wide. My most recent trips were to Egypt and Morocco as a project leader for Sonoma Sister Cities where I also serve on the Board of Directors. I am currently implementing a grant to alleviate poverty in Africa. I am even writing a cookbook. Do I every relax? Sure. I love lazy days and a cozy fireplaces. Just light the fire.
I am having the time of my life just being and growing in new ways. Retirement is great! I approach life with a lot of laughter and am amazed by the beauty that surrounds me
