My name is Bill. I am 74 years young. I feel much younger! I am energetic, and very healthy. I walk almost every day for about an hour or more in the nearby hills, or bike path. I can do anything now that I did when I was younger. I have always said I would live to be a 100. I may not, but I am sure trying to. I really enjoy life, and always have!
I live in Simi Valley, just outside of Los Angeles in Ventura County. Simi Valley is a great city, but I am flexible as to where I live. I hope any relationship I get into has at least a good change that it will grow serious, and lead to marriage.
I am not rich, but I'm financially very secure. I have a good pension benefits social security my house is paid for sold real estate investments a few years ago, and put the money in the bank. I have no debt.
I'm retired from teaching high school for 34 years. I also taught adult school at night for eight years. I taught in a Youth Authority prison for two summers.
I received my A.A. in Sociology and Psychology, and then traveled for over 14 months. During that time I became sure I wanted to teach. When I returned I majored in Social Studies with a Spanish minor for teaching.

After 18 years of marriage, I had an amicable divorce years ago. The alimony ended about 9 years ago. She and I are on friendly terms, but rarely see each other. I have one grown daughter. She has turned out just fine, and we have a good relationship. She is married, and has one child. I live alone, and no one is dependent on me.
I like to think of myself as successful, and goal orientated. I believe I've led an interesting, and moderately adventurous life.
I am a nonsmoker, no drugs, and a light drinker. I have no" baggage". I have no physical or emotional problems. I have no real problems of any kind. I believe I have had a very good life. I am a happy person, and always have been.I 'm honest. I believe it's accurate for me to further describe myself as, healthy, energetic, and "easy going" [not easily angered, but can certainly "stand up for myself"]. I'm logical, fun, able to see the humor in life, monogamous, loving, and sensuous, enjoy sex in a serious relationship and romantic. I also give good massages.
I was raised a Protestant, but I like all religions. I've been told that I'm the"good husband " type.
One of my main interests is travel. So far I’ve traveled in 60 nations. Recent examples; In 2007 I went on a gorilla trek in Rwanda, camping safari in Tanzania, and tribal camping safari in Ethiopia The total time was 5 weeks. In 2008 I traveled in Egypt, and in Jordan. I traveled by hired car, and driver. In 2010, Papua New Guinea, and Australia.
I love nature, and might get a house in the country. Some of my other interests are; health, walking, gym, making love, snorkeling, horseback riding, good food, fine dining, entertainment, movies, interesting conversation, cultural events, reading, gardening, photography, T.V., drives, dancing, and real estate. Learning new things is also good.

Date a soulmate from California, United States. I was finally sent home from work after 19 years mainly because I was supposed to retire 7 years ago and they were afraid I would stay forever. Now I have lots of time to get organized doing what most retired people do i.e. searching for social security offices, insurance companies, tax guys, 401K experts and generally relaxing. My previous notes here mentioned my love for reading which i do via my e-reader (Kindle from Amazon). I also mentioned I have to relocate into a smaller home since I can't sleep in 4 bedrooms. I focus at the moment is to get all of the above settled and then find someone to compare life notes with and see if there is really anybody that would put up with me. I will update as soon as I quite panicking over moving out of a home I have lived in for 35 years but what the heck. I know change is good.
