Date single man from United States. My name is Max, I'll tell you my last name later. I was born and raised in London England and came to the U.S for college. I've lived here off and on ever since. As a teenager I travelled around Europe extensively. When I came to America I was amazed by its size and beauty. I have since crisscrossed this country at least seven times, in cars and by train, and seen every state in the lower forty-eight. Although I travelled a lot in my twenties and early thirties I do not ramble around as much as I used to. I like to go on about one trip a year, and have found I like nice hotels now where as before I was just as happy in a sleeping bag under the stars.
I am a creative spirit and anyone who wants to be with me has to know I do not live a life of conformity. I studied sculpture and ceramics at University. After school I worked as a production ceramist for some time. I then moved out to L.A were I worked in film, mostly documentaries. I got tired of L.A and moved up to Oregon where I learned how to build houses. I now work in a variety of fields from producing instructional videos for the internet to commodity trading. I don't like to work hard for my money so my philosophy is work smarter not harder.
My passions are music and film making. I play guitar and banjo and write a lot of songs, mostly folk, blues and old country type stuff. I am very taken by Americana. I'm also trying to finish a Documentary that I have been working on for a number of years. I'll tell you more about that if we meet.
I want to find a confident woman who knows herself. Although I am a very positive man I can not make you happy so you have to come to the table with that quality. I want to find my soul mate if thats possible. Someone to grow with and become a better person with. I will not be you daddy but I will not be your child either, I want to find my equal. Having said that I am far from perfect so I would never expect that from somebody else.
I like to go on long walks regularly, camping, skiing when I can. I also like to eat good food, go dancing, clubs and the occasional festival. I am a thinker and enjoy a good conversation. I'm an extravert but I'm not as social as I used to be so I find I am often just as happy to stay home, watch a movie, get in the hot tub or just read a book. I think everything requires balance. However I am a big fan of a good time:) I like to laugh as much as possible so I'm looking for someone with a good sense of humor who sees the funny sides of life. Have I seen you here before? I was on Match.com a few years back and it is an interesting study in marketing and human behavior. You send someone youre interested an e-mail and Match.com shows you pictures of 3 other women - so much for monogamy; go figure? Well, I am back in the dating pool but I dont want to stay in the pool too long cause Ill get all wrinkly.
I am a Marine Biologist and my office is in the North Bay but each winter I sample herring in the San Francisco Bay aboard a research vessel. Actually I am not that nautical by nature (OK , maybe a little naughty by nature). Most of my work is done sitting in front of a computer analyzing data and writing regulations and reports. My job is challenging but very interesting. Late fall through spring is my busy time and my work schedule is lightest and most flexible in summer.
A friend of mine recently said that I am one of only 2 people he knows that could make a living as a stand up comic. Hes full of well lets just say, Id starve. I do like trying to make people laugh and once in a blue moon my humor mojo gets going and Im unstoppable  I should stop but I dont. I tend to have a self effacing sense of humor OK, everybody effacing. Hey! I can laugh at my own mistakes but it's even more fun to laugh when someone else messes up.
