Meet a man from Sebastopol, United States. I am a 66-year-old lifelong bachelor. I have been a sculptor for 36 years & that, coupled with my natural tendencies, has diverted me from actively seeking a partner for life (or even a steady career to provide economic security). My "career" has consisted of a series of time- & energy-consuming jobs to 'support' my sculpting, which I had hoped would be a full-time vocation, but has not been.
I would love to find a life mate whom I find attractive and who finds me so, who has a good heart, a good sense of humor, and a good outlook on life. A kind and generous person, intelligent, patient and yet energetic, a thinker and a dreamer. Someone who loves the out-of-doors and a good book. Somone who thinks that the world as it is is not the best of all possible worlds, but who doesn't expect to change it overnight. I've never been politically very active, but I do have views about the ways things work (and don't).
I'm 6 feet tall, about 235 pounds, large of frame, with extra pounds. I'm strong but aging. I think I'm more youthful than many people younger than I. Spiritiually, I'm a born-again atheist, having been raised Catholic. I think organized religion has had good features but has also diverted humanity from the problems of the real world and is a problem itself.
I have not dated much in the last 12 years, so I'm rusty (and crusty). I'm more pessimistic than I used to be, but I do believe in beauty, and the beauty around us. I would love to find the life partner I described above, but I'm beginning to think that I won't, so I'm looking for a companion (s?) to share with: going to the beach, sightseeing, driving in the country & up and down the coast, going to SF (musuems, Chinatown, Golden Gate Park-- I'm a good tourist), dining out and more. I've used Match to see who's out there looking for men & what they want. I haven't subscribed until now because I was really not actively engaged in looking. Now, I'm going to have a studio show at the end of July--that will be a good occasion to meet people in an "escapable" environment.
The last few years my life has centered on working and survival. I didn't have the time to do my sculpture, but I have moved to a workable location and I'm back sculpting. When young, I thought to be: a teacher, a computer analyst, a poet, an outdoorsman, a writer, a sculptor, and more. I've worked in labs, cleaned horse stalls, made lasers, edited for an aersospace company, worked in wineries, run computers, worked (manually) at a fairgrounds, driven for a bakery, and many, many other things.
My greatest pleasures are reading and driving in the country or to the ocean. I read mostly science fiction and fantasy, though I have eclectic tastes if something strikes my fancy. I like to eat, but I'm a lazy cook. In short, I'm an aging bachelor, but a basically nice guy. I've been having trouble getting my profile edits to work as I want. What I want to convey is that I am someone who appreciates gentleness & sensitivity, but, when the spirit moves me, likes to get out and go and do. I am poor and the future doesn't look that rosy, so if money is a big issue with you, I apologize in advance if I try to contact you and it just doesn't work for you. Just say so.
