I've been in and out of relationships in my life but never did find one that I wanted to last forever. I envy people who have that, but I accept that things have just gone the way they have and continue to be as optimistic as a skeptical outcast such as myself can.
I would like to meet an independent kind of woman, someone who would rather wear jeans than a little black dress, someone without a lot of expectations, with some common interests, who doesn't like to depend on a man for much more than companionship and occasional romance. I'm looking more for friendship with someone I like than I am for sex, but magic sometimes happens. Now that's the most romantic thought I've had in years.
I'm a healthy man in pretty good shape who sometimes appears younger than his 63 years. I was born in Boston, left there in 1983, have lived in Sonoma County since then.
I enjoy a lot of music, in fact I'm very much a music fanatic, like to read, and like good movies that I always watch until the credits are over. I also appreciate many TV series that are found on cable stations. Sorry, but I hate reality shows, especially American Idol.
I prefer conversation on a personal level as opposed to a discussion of what I just heard on the news. I'm not much on long conversations or talking on the phone, but I will call 911 in an emergency.
I'm not at all interested in sports and in fact have never seen a football game in my entire life. I have never been to a casino, and never play the lottery. It's not fun for me and the odds are lousy.
I enjoy being home more than going to a lot of events. I do, however, venture outdoors on a daily basis and would be very upset if it was all gone tomorrow. I prefer natural surroundings but enjoy what a city may have to offer. I like to walk and ride a bike for exercise.
I also enjoy travel, but I have trouble with the leaving home part. I do enjoy driving and I love cars. I won't go camping unless I can be home before bedtime.

I can be very critical at times, but not usually of people, especially nice people, and never of children. I care very much about animals - especially the cute ones - and if I accidentally run over one it's a traumatic experience for me.
I like to eat natural foods, often vegan, but I'm not really much of a cook. I love seafood, but I haven't had a steak or been to McDonald's in almost forty years. The restaurants I like are few and far between, but you can probably drag me to your favorite if you try, and I may even like it, or at least pretend to. I love to shop at farmer's markets.
I have two wonderful young sons who live with their mother. I see them about once or twice a week.
I don't have 1001 places I want to see or 1001 things I want to do before I die. I would be satisfied to do one thing and do it well.
I don't see the glass as half empty or half full, but as twice as big as it needs to be.
I have never been arrested, been to prison, had a DUI or a restraining order. I have had a few speeding tickets, though. I've never owned a gun. I have no tattoos. I bathe daily. I won't try to borrow money or steal from you. I don't own a Corvette but dreamed about getting one when I was in high school.
If you have a tattoo on your lower back, you're probably too young and foolish for me.
As you might infer from some of my words here, I try to be funny, but in all seriousness, I consider myself a kind and loyal person and I believe in being honest in my communications with others. Most importantly, I believe relationships should be fun, not work.
