Date a man from Santa Paula, United States. I am a man of modest height, greying hair (including the small pony tail), and a cheerful disposition. I am trim through a daily exercise routine that includes morning walks with band exercise and riding 4-5 miles on my trusty exercise bike - but I am not fixated on fitness. I do it because it feels good. That and a good diet keep my libido active and give me a zest for passion much below my age.
I do not always watch sports events and I especially dislike "bashing" sports. I do like sports with finesse such as golf and tennis. I would prefer a companion who takes care of herself but is not manic about it. Favorite outdoor activity? See Kona below....
My friends and I play pool and bocce on weekend get-togethers. This may be accompanied by a good chardonnay or viognier. Speaking of which it would be nice to have a companion that has an interest in wine and cuisine. I like to cook, and often have friends over for a day or two of recipe experiments and wine tastings. I much prefer cooking that is mutual and shared - it is an experience in itself. Favorite recipes include:
1. Rubbed Filet. Roasted coriander and cumin seed crushed into a rub for medium-rare filet roast served with grape tomato and queso-fresco red-onion salsa. This would be served with a rich CDR red or a bold Petite Sirah.
2. Blasted Scallops. Seared large sea scallops served on a (pureed) sauce of roasted tomatoes with a bit of melted butter, and shallots, garlic, tarragon and sherry vinegar. Served with a nice CDR white.
I am a computer and science geek, semi-retired but still consulting for some local ag-businesses. (I make, install, and maintain computer systems). And of course I help friends and family who are always breaking something on their computer and need a hand. I have a MS in Computer Science and BS's in Physics and Russian. I would like a companion that has some college education, but that is not binding.
I love the Big Island Kona coast of Hawaii, and go there every year. My companion would hopefully enjoy that and snorkling. And an occasional Mai Tai. I also like driving trips to just about anywhere. That includes California and just about any National Park.
Qualities that I seek in a woman:

2. Reasonably good looks (takes care of her self with some exercise)
3. Easy going and comfortable in herself
4. Ability to communcate needs openly (I'm not a mind reader)
5. Willingness to hear my needs coming back (not all need be met)
6. She is comfortable discussing most things, but will let you know her boundaries
7. If any relationship turmoil is in the past, exposure to counseling work is a plus.

My remaining active family is my brother and his wife - both dear to my heart. He gave me my first guitar and a lifelong interest in travel and cuisine. And I love his kids: two nephews who are teriffic (with their families) and a marvelous niece that I love to pieces with an angel (mischievous?) of a great niece. I am blessed to have them all in my life.
