I have many passions which include just about any kind of adventure, having fun/laughing, being "successful" (which has a variety of meanings), traveling in style, the outdoors/nature surfing, diving, sailing/boating, skiing, camping/backpacking, bundling up to watch shooting stars, eating ice cream, luxuriating, and relaxing:). In my opinion, room service is one of the best inventions ever!:) I stay very active because my mind and spirit are so much brighter when I exercise and hopefully it keeps my "body sexy" too! I am fascinated by past cultures, people and creatures. I am an amateur archaeologist/paleontologist and I plan to return to UCLA at some point to get my masters degree in Archaeology and or Anthropology...As I mentioned, I am a bit of an "adventure junkie" but I also cherish “quiet time”.
Treating others with respect, being kind and emphatic is a very natural part of my personality. I was raised with somewhat "old fashioned" manners and I understand and practice chivalry. I have been told that I am sentimental and romantic, NEVER dull and that I have a great sense of humor. Writing all this stuff about how great I am is getting a little uncomfortable so I should add that I can be a complete jerk at times, especially when I am overly hungry or tired! Ok, I feel better so back to what a great guy I am: I am very generous, a good communicator/listener, I love to "connect", I DO NOT always need to be "right" and I'm a "giver". Visiting new places, learning about different cultures and learning new things is a thrill. I am very motivated/ambitious, and I have always had a very strong desire to succeed.
Being successful was and still is of the utmost importance. Life experience has taught me that "success" comes in many different forms and that it has many different meanings and measures. Being successful in business, earning money and being a good provider are extremely important to me. I have an intense career that I love, and I have worked very hard for many years to build a company of which I am very proud... I appreciate and enjoy the security and the "things" that come with financial success. On the other hand, having learned that money and "things" do not bring me happiness, at least not long-term happiness, my goal is to live a rich, full, happy and balanced life.
Some of the characteristics and traits that I find attractive include intelligence, strength, courage and honesty; someone who is straightforward, loyal, passionate, curious, adventurous, motivated, has a desire to succeed, and who willing to do what it takes to build the kind of rich, full life that I mentioned...
I would like to find a partner so that we can share this incredible journey. I have this fantasy about finding a partner who feels loved and supported by me and safe with me...I feel exactly the same way about her...We have a lot in common but we also accept and appreciate our individuality, especially because it is the acceptance of our differences that allows our relationship to grow and to remain dynamic. Over time we build a strong trust. We buoy each other up in the difficult times and we share the joy of the great times...We are a team and the glue that forms our permanent bond is love.

I am a loving carring person, who is loyal, and someone a woman can count on. Call me old fashioned, but I am a strong beliver in the laws of chivalry, and all women, be it my mother, sister, or significant other, I always honor them.
If there is a chance to find the one special someone in my life, I think this is worrth it. I have found it very hard to meet really nice women who are beautiful on the inside and out. I think its time for me to try and do so. I'm deffenitly interested in a long term relationship, and God willing a family. I know it's hard for a lot of guys to admit that they enjoy affection, but it should come with the territory.
I pride myself to living life to the fullest. I try to stay in as good a shape as I can by going to the gym periodically, ridding my bike, or playing adult sports. I love to travel when the opportunity arises, and I enjoy the time I spend with good freinds and my family whom I love with all my heart. I'm a big L.A. Sports Fan(Lakers, Dodgers, Kings, etc.). I enjoy going to concerts, musical theater, music, museums, or just finding a new restaraunt and hanging out with friends and family.

I was fortunate to grow up in southern California and have more pairs of shorts than pants, about as politically leaning as a palm tree, and casual to the point where I have flip-flops and "dress" flip-flops. I have travelled a lot and worked abroad: West Africa as a Peace Corps Volunteer, Costa Rica as an Outward Bound Instructor, and South Korea teaching English. That has been my calling in life I think: to help and educate others, and I am thankful that I have been able to live that out and share my gift. However, I also enjoy travel for surf, scuba, or simply fun as well, just got back from Key West wreck diving, and New Years went to Riviera Maya Mex, went cave diving--super cool. Kauai and Idaho last summer, snorkeling, paddling, wakeboarding, and wow, already a year ago went to Nicaragua for some sweet surf. The point--I like to travel! It would be excellent to find a woman who has wanderlust as well, and a valid passport! When I am not traveling and working, I am biking, hiking, surfing, sailing, or flying, or napping. I came to LA to teach, and did so for many years, but I burnt out on it and needed a career change. I now wear a suit that utterly doesn't suit me. BUT, it really is a good career and I am really good at it. My job still falls into my life path of helping others and teaching and I make the most of it each day. However, we all have a dream job. Mine would be to either to train search and rescue dogs, or to pilot the Quiksilver Crossing Albatross seaplane and fly to remote surf spots for a living......One day. You'd come with me of course.
One night I had my palm read for the very first time by a friend, and according to her reading, I am a good and kind man, very healthy, honest, in need of faith, and I will never be poor. She was pretty spot on.

Meet someone special from California, United States. About me: I love to travel and try to get away every few months. My favorite spot at the moment is Kauai. Been there three times this year. I try to eat healthy and prefer seafood. I'm not a foodie, but I try to check restaurants that people rave about. The cool thing is there are so many great places between here on Montana all the way to Venice's Abbott Kinney. It's very convenient.

REI socks, TED, and NPR: Yep. Malls, SPAM, religion, and sunbathing: Nah. I'm a smiling and laughing cynic, not a bitter and angry one. The humor is massively dry/random/absurd/sarcastic. I'm under 5'10"...GASP! L.A. never fully fit me as well as the Bay Area (see previous comment) but I've been here for a while and have found the good parts.

On a Saturday you might do things like go for a kick-arse hike, to a small theater or a weird art opening, check out a farmer's market and/or new restaurant (all interspersed with paying respect to the Ministry of Silly Walks, natch) instead of going to a mall and/or drinking massively by rote. The shallow: I stay in decent shape and prefer the same in some one.

I love and appreciate my family and friends more than anything else - they made me who I'm today. I stay active and I try to spend a lot of my time outdoors (well, from time to time job keeps me very busy, but I always try to find time for outdoor activities - if there is a will there is a way - correct?) - museums, art shows, movies, coffee shops, beaches, hikes, weekend getaways (not necessarily in that order). I'm not the surfer type, but to make me happy it can be as simple as walking or biking by the beach after work - this is not the activity or the place that counts to me, but the company of someone special.
