I was born and raised in Los Angeles to immigrant parents who were both professors at UCLA.
Separated from my mother, my father lived alone. Since he was always on some extreme diet there would never be any food in the house. I remember scavenging through the cupboards looking for something to eat. Yes, I grew up in a nice house, in Brentwood, with a pool, a nice car in the garage, my own room – starving! I was forced to learn how to cook early. I must have been 6 or 7 when I learned to make French fries.
"All I need is oil and potatoes?... we have that!" But we did not have enough oil. "No problem I can just mix the oil with some water. I will boil the potatoes and fry them at the same time. No problem..."
So after almost blowing up the house, I enjoyed the best French fries of my life and became the official cook of the household. I am still very good around the kitchen. Something many people find surprising.
Professionally I have a dream job. It is intellectually fascinating,, requires that I travel to interesting places, learn new things and help organizations in significant ways. It earns me more accolades and appreciation than any modest guy would feel comfortable with. I aspire to grow my company further, making it a household name.
I signed up for Match because I am single… I remember a time when if you told someone you met your spouse online it was considered creepy. Now, if you tell someone you met your spouse at a bar, that sounds creepy…. And it does. A bar is not the place to meet new people. A bar is a place to meet friends and celebrate. So I guess I am online to find someone to celebrate with.

Like many of the matchies here, I like good food and wine. Love to garden and grow my own food, haven’t tried growing grapes for wine, maybe one day if work turns out really well :) …while I tend to obsess about the food and the wine too much, it’s doesn’t make for a rich experience without good people.
At this point I’m not anxious for a serious relationship; someone to partner with to play hard after I’m done working hard would be awesome. Someone up for some trips, some adventure. That said, for the right relationship, I imagine that would evolve naturally into a higher level of commitment. I’m definitely not afraid and have no issues from past relationships. Just only plan to get serious with the right person.
Relationships are obviously everything in every sense. I value family. I have a pretty big one and they are fantastic. My values are rooted in the midwest.

I like exercising, whether it's going to the gym and lifting weights or just going for a run, hike, or swim. I enjoy playing volleyball and I like college football...USC. I like all types of music and all aspects of music...listening to different styles, playing bass, or writing my own stuff. I like classical just as much as going to a Weezer concert.

I did all my education at UCSB, with grad school focused in education. I love traveling the world and visiting new places, but going on family trips is important to me. I'm pretty mellow most days, but enjoy doing active things outdoors (see above), studying aikido, or listening to or playing music. I've recently gotten into playing the drums and am loving it.

Meet a soulmate from California, United States. Here's me in a nutshell: Sometimes people tell me I've got a serious look about me, but I'm really friendly and easygoing! I've got a strong sense of adventure combined with a lot of imagination and curiosity. I make a fair amount of my daydreams and goals happen, and am a really motivated person. Some of my favorite goals from the last few years have been: learning to play the accordion, learning to sew, organizing a family trip to Morocco, traveling to surf in England (brr), obtaining my architect's license, and getting a gigantic, beautiful table made for my kitchen. Travel is bordering on an addiction to me, and I can't be at home for more than a few months before I at least start thinking of where in the world I'd like to see next. I'm constantly inspired by all these things, so vacationing in faraway places just adds that extra spark/shift in consciousness that keeps life interesting.

Some of my favorite pastimes are surfing, hiking, running (really, being active in the outdoors in general), cooking, gardening, traveling, dancing, and learning new things.
