Date men and women from United States / California / San Leandro, 35 year old

Date people from United States. I am a walking contradiction. An easygoing gal with a big heart, old fashion values, loving aunt/daughter/sister/friend, a book worm, nerd, girl next door, I can change a tire, fix stuff around the house, and I have tattoos.
I've been told by my guy friends that being self sufficient is intimidating, but I beg to differ, I say a real man appreciates a woman who can handle things on her own. I want to be with someone because I want to, not because I need to. I am by no means a tomboy, I love to dress up, and I wear heels often (hence the height I like in men), but I can also relax with a cold beer in jeans and a T-shirt watching a game, yes, I am that type of girl.
I am looking for an old-fashioned romance (I am NOT looking for a hook-up, or friend with benefits, there are plenty of other sites for that). Older gentlemen may know romance better, and younger guys may know more about fun, but I don't want a younger man, and I draw the line at 7 yrs past my age, nothing against either side, but I know from experience what will not work for me.
Still reading? Ok...my interests vary, depending on my surroundings. I am currently training for the Tough Mudder (so those "extra pounds" are going away), going to festivals on the weekends, heading out of town when time permits, day hikes, exploring new neighborhoods and helping out with my niece and nephew. I like trying out new places, from restaurants to dive bars, or staying in with a home cooked meal, yes I can cook.
I would like to find someone who is a romantic at heart, funny, comfortable in their own skin, a true friend, and most importantly, a grown up. I don't want to be the only adult in a relationship (been there, done that).
You get bonus points if you don't mind loud happy people. I grew up in East Oakland, and have a small eclectic group of friends and a loud Mexican family, any of which like to show up for food and conversation. Liking dogs and children is a MUST (and they must like you, as they are the best judges of character). My roommates are family, (interesting story there) and there are two kiddies at home, along with two dogs.
Lastly, I like manly men. Be well groomed by all means, but a little gruff or being a bit rough around the edges is a plus..(think Wolverine or Dyson from Lost Girl). It is not a requirement that you have tattoos (or even like them) just don't judge me on mine.
Thanks for reading and good luck out there.
