I'm entering a new phase of my life. When my wife passed away it ended our magazine (it took both of us to publish) so I am now semi retired doing taxes in the tax season and free the other 2/3rds of the year. I haven't yet determined what I will do with this freedom partly because it's too soon and partly because I am hoping to find someone to share it with.
Our magazine, Costa D’Oro, covered art, history and elegant living on South Orange County’s Gold Coast including haute Orange County (i. e. the social scene) so I am comfortable in most environments. I have a wide range of interests and experiences (which is why we could do a general interest magazine) so I'm confident we can find a lot of things to do which interest both of us. While I don’t consider myself either an alpha or beta male (I’m too independent to be either a leader or a follower), we had the guts to start our own business in a very competitive market (magazines) and the savvy and drive to make it work for 14 years.
Among my passions today are economics, politics and how a society organizes itself. Naturally I'd like someone who shares my interests. Discussing, more than debating, issues is a lot of fun with someone you like who is interested, intelligent and informed. My political views are mainstream conservative. However, one of my favorite sayings is, "If two people agree on everything, only one of them is doing the thinking" so I want someone who shares my INTEREST in these subjects but I definitely do NOT require that she agree with me. (OTOH if you are a passionate Leftist we probably won't get along.)
Financially I'm not wealthy but I do have enough. I won't be able to whisk you off to Paris every weekend but I will be able to take you to nice restaurants. And I'll never need or want to ask for money.
I am looking for someone who is quite romantic and who enjoys cuddling. And yes, making love is part of a good relationship (especially since I am a one woman man). If you're happy with 5 or 10 minutes once or twice a week we aren’t right for each other. I do two sets of a hundred pushups 3 times a week (the most I was ever required to do in the Marine Corps was 65) and run a mile or two so I'd like a partner that is reasonably fit. Of course the more attractive the better.
I do want to emphasize, however, I’m not one of those guys who thinks of sex at the drop of a dress (hat, hat, drop of a hat). I value a woman for her mind, not just her ...hot ...sensuous ...desirable ...body. Also, I have an offbeat sense of humor. But you’ll have to take my word on that for right now.
Seriously though, I had a wonderful life with a beautiful woman for 28 years. (She and I are in the photo where I’m wearing the tux.) She was my best friend and I was her’s and I had planned to spend the rest of my life with her before the cancer ended everything. Naturally I would like another beautiful woman who likes the things I like, who I can satisfy, and who wants to share the rest of my life.
But even if that is not possible, finding someone to share laughs, fun and an occasional dinner with is far better than a life completely alone. If you find my profile and my picture interesting, email me. Who knows?
Full disclosure on smoking. I have ONE cigar at the end of the day on my verandah watching the sun go down. I NEVER smoke any other time.
Oh, yes. I play guitar and have written a few songs (which I guess makes me a certified sensitive guy). I can also play you the most beautiful song written in the 1960s.
