Friends and Family are important to me. I’m a proud Dad with amazing daughters who have grown up to be awesome women. I have wonderful parents and brothers. When we are all together there are hugs, good meals, adult beverages, quality conversation, friendly competition and stupendous amounts of laughter.
I've been blessed with meeting some great people and had many fine adventures. I enjoy lots of things, but quality people are at the top of my list. I find that some of the best times are had just hanging out with people you like and enjoying a fine meal, some fine wine and some equally fine conversation.
I like traveling. I have lived in Europe. I’ve filled two passports and I'm working on my third. There are still plenty of places I want to explore and quite a few I'd gladly return to. Places I'd still like to see include Greece, Turkey, Africa and Machu Picchu. I love planning the trips almost as much as taking them. I'm happy to play tour guide or let you lead the way.
Live music is a particular passion and I like to frequent the great venues we have here in the bay area – The Mountain Winery, Villa Montalvo, Moe's Alley, The Fillmore, The Fox, etc. My tastes gravitate toward rock/blues. I probably go to 30 or more shows a year.
Fixing things is fun and I'm generally successful. Occasionally profanity is involved. I apologize in advance.

I’m a “list person” and take pride in completing tasks and ticking things off my list. I think this has more to do with the sense of accomplishment and forward motion than anything. It just feels good. Having said that, I also enjoy taking time for sensual and stimulating pleasures like fine wining and dining, reading, exercise, movies, full body hugs, the restorative power of the occasional nap and of course the aforementioned live music.
I'm a gentleman (thank my mom...).

I like learning.
I'm in touch with my inner child, but can put him in time out when appropriate.
I like to cook. The dishes are generally edible.

My idea of "roughing it" is bad reception at Motel 6.

All in all I’d say my life has been like a good book. Like any good book, you have to choose between savoring what you have just read or racing ahead to see how it all works out.
I’m attracted to fit, fun, passionate females, with great smiles, twinkling eyes, a dash of mischief and a well developed sense of humor. Hopefully someone out there will fit that description, and if you do, please don't be shy. At the risk of sounding shallow, history has taught me that my taste in women really does run to the slender/athletic end of the spectrum. So if you fear bathing suits more than death we probably won't be a match.

Time spent outdoors when I can which is daily with my four-legged pal Max I look forward to eagerly. Traveling locally & afar (no tour buses, sorry) exploring and learning I enjoy. I love to run in the local hills, walk daily, hike, bike, canoe/sea kayak, play in the park with Max, camping at Upper Pines in Yosemite Valley in mid-May, appreciate an art exhibit, etc. At the same time, I am happy hanging out at home, pulling weeds out of my English garden, relaxing in front of a cozy warm fireplace beside you, or doing most anything else.
Exercising regularly along with maintaining a healthy lifestyle, I am seeking a woman who also appreciates being physically fit to one degree or another. Keep it simple, always respect others, listen, be humble, considerate, laugh often and be absolutely thankful for every sunrise define me. I am very fortunate for all of the experiences and lessons that have occurred in my life and I honestly believe that they all occurred for a reason even though I might have not understood it when it occurred.
Ethics, spirituality, personal growth, family and having a healthy relationship with a significant other are very important to me. I also value my true friendship with a small group of very good friends that I have known for at least 35 years.
I am lucky to have two beautiful daughters that live with me the majority of the time and hopefully they will be productive, honest, spiritual and most importantly happy when they are adults. Yes, I have room for another female in my life but my daughters are a part of the package plus they need me and ..........I need them.
I try to take care of myself in all areas of my mind and body: good sleep (down pillows!!), healthy food, positive reading, meditation and exercise several times per week.
What happens in a persons life is based on what that person "attracts"' therefore I would rather been around people that take responsibility of their actions and who are self motivated in improving all areas of their life with a full understanding that no one is perfect..........including myself !!
The ideal situation would be to meet someone that would lead to an authentic healthy relationship. If it turns out to only be a friendship that’s fine since that’s what “the plan” was suppose to be in the first place. My ideal match will need to be emotionally available, open to personal growth, high integrity (to your self and others) responsible, sensitive and has the ability to handle things as best as possible after things in life seem to get out of control. I want neither an amazonian nor a milquetoast; would certainly like to find someone in-between the aforementioned two. Ideally the person would be a reliable partner, not dead weight. Also, communication skills are CRITICAL!! It's physically impossible to hear someone with your mouth open. . . I cannot help us if you will not calmly "communicate" the issue to me. Someone who is stable of mind, quasi logical, at least semi physically fit, and has a good/great sense of humor would certainly be appreciated. Also, do not pontificate the moral high ground if you live in it's slums. . . practice what you preach.
I am 5'9" 160lbs. . . I can actually look down and see my feet. I have been told by others that I look younger in person. This is due in part to good genetics and working out on a fairly regular basis. . . gotta keep the girl bait in shape ;) IF we get involved, I don't want you having buyers remorse somewhere down the road; you have to perform routine maintenance on your car, the same goes for your body.
