Well, let's see, according to what I've read on this site, I need to be successful, accomplished, ambitious, confident, funny, intelligent, witty, sophisticated, strong, adventurous, generous, romantic, creative, fashionable, honest, sincere, authentic, attractive, and ready to travel. Phew, that's a lot to live up to. OK, yes, I'm all that and more, and come with a Sham-wow and Snuggie.
I might satisfy the criteria, pass the audition, and could certainly paint a pretty picture, but truth is I don't really want to. I'm not looking for a trophy wife; I don't want to be a trophy husband, if I could even imagine myself qualifying as one. I'd rather be desired than admired. I want something much closer; be it casual, long term, for life, or even if we just end up friends. If a market crash somehow decimates my portfolio, I don't want someone who follows my assets out the door.
I'm a retired software executive and solo parent to my 9 year old son. He is the love of my life, my absolute highest priority, and always will be. I can't imagine a woman being even remotely attracted to a man who considered his children in any other way. I am both conventional and unconventional, my life has taken many segues, often by design. I've always been entrepreneurial; corporate and social ladders never interested me much. I'm as at home in a suit as in jeans, t-shirt and sandals; you'll normally find me in the latter. Injustice or cruelty to animals, children, or old people incites me. Spending time with my son is what I enjoy most these days. He's my mentor, guru, and teaches me that spilled milk really is to be cried over, we can never ever be playful enough, adults need to lighten up, and when you're done with something, move on to what's next. Patience and listening can always be improved and will never be mastered.
I grew up in New England, attended a quintessential New England prep school, so am a certified preppy, although you likely wouldn't know it had I not told you. Went to college in Boston. I'm understated about money, success and all those sorts of things, bling is the antithesis of my nature. I'm a musician, had my first professional (meaning got paid for it) gig at the age of 13, and continued for decades thereafter, including after donning a suit and becoming a businessman.
My pictures are very recent, except for the one which obviously isn't, the damage hasn't been too severe since then. It's appropriate that my son is in the pictures, he lives with me full time. Health is very important to me, I'm at the gym 5-6 days a week. I'm moral and ethical, loyal to a fault, and not rigid or self-righteous about it. I'm this way not from religious ideology, but simply because it feels good.
So, what do I want in a woman. I have no idea if you'll be blond or brunette, tall or short, career oriented or more home oriented, active or more relaxed. That some define passion and love by a salary range, height range, color of hair, a lifestyle, etc, is a bit foreign to me. I can't define by that sort of criteria because for me attraction doesn't happen that way. I'll know it in your eyes, your hands, your touch, your scent, the sound of your voice even more than your words, your laugh, your sigh, your tears, how you move, how you breathe. I don't know how else to say it. I just know I'll catch myself thinking about you when I'm trying to concentrate on something else, and I'll have this urge to call you when something wonderful happens or when something not so wonderful happens. But it's you I'll want to call. I'll want to be around you more and more. It could happen immediately, it could happen very gradually. But I will feel it, I will recognize it, maybe even in your picture. I'm in no hurry, certainly feel no desperation, the journey is to be savored as fully as any destination.

Physically, I'm 6'3" 200lbs with a lean, athletic build. Personality wise I would describe myself as down to earth and easy going, a glass half full kind of guy. Going out is fun but a night in with a bottle of wine and a game of Scrabble is fun too. I'm comfortable with 5 star dining to no star dining and everything in between. Sushi is one of my favorites. I enjoy cooking and actually grow quite a bit of stuff to cook with in a container garden on one of my decks. Taking classes is fun too - I've taken a couple of dance ones and would like to take a wine tasting and cooking class soon.

I was a big corporate guy for 22 years, with an MBA and in the end a VP/GM for a Fortune 100 company. I decided that I had enough money, but not enough time to do what I really wanted to be doing. So, I left that Life and started a Metal Fabrication business...Artistic Ironworks Company. I now work with my hands on high end artistic projects; way more satisfying than any Corporate Position! Before the stock market crash of 2008 I was building custom motorcycles and making many fancy staircase railings for new homes. Because of the poor custom bike market, I do not make the bikes anymore. Now I make basically anything made of metal....although I like to make driveway and garden gates. I always get comments from my Clients that I should be on reality TV!!!
I recently purchased a 97 year old company in the Long Beach California area. The business has enormous upside potential. The employees are great and are highly skilled. I currently spent ? my time in California and the other half in Michigan. I am planning on spending most of the winter in Southern California. Both companies can run themselves and have good management teams. The commute is a long one and I miss my doggies a lot. On the other hand, this new adventure may really be fun and work out nicely! I have 2 wonderful little dogs that I spend allot of time with and really love....Foey and Oscar...a JRT and a JRT-Yorkie mix. They are very sweet and nice...you would love them! They have a doggie door and a fenced in outdoor area to play. Stephanie, the 12 year old neighborhood dog walker, takes care of them when I am traveling.
I am a very self-sufficient, active person with a wide variety of interests. I really like to cook: turkey dinners, eggplant parmesan, Indian curry, steaks/salmon on the grill, banana nut bread, soups, salads, etc.. I have perfected the art of making Starbucks Cafe Mocha Venti myself! I also like to keep my house clean and organized. But I hate to dust! I do like to do the laundry and hang dry everything outside when possible. In the summer I like to go on the paddleboat for cocktail hour, or on the pontoon boat for a romantic dinner. In the winter I like to go cross country skiing or snowmobiling on the Lake and then take a hot bath and snuggle on the couch with a good book.

I have been really struggling with what to put here. I mean, I don't just want to do the standard laundry list of likes and dislikes with regards to me. What I will say however is I'm a good midwestern guy with good midwestern values. I'm very laid back and pretty much go with the flow. I don't have a lot of pet peeves but there are a couple things that do 'get to me'. I'll be happy to share much more after contact if thats OK with you!
As to what I'm looking for, well....first and foremost a great gal! Just a couple of the qualities I search for are I definately want someone who likes to banter back and forth, someone with a great sense of humor who can just as easily laugh at themselves as laugh at...er...with me!
