Date men and women from United States / California / Rancho Cordova, 80 year old

Date a woman from Rancho Cordova, United States. First, I am a 79-year-old woman (retired), still intensely interested in life. I'm not certain what I want in a relationship, but I'll know it when and if it happens.
While I'd like to meet someone compatible to enjoy time with, I'm not a needy, clinging kind of woman. Only if I were to meet a man, whole in himself, with whom I felt our lives would be better together than apart, would I think it right for us to share our lives.
I've been single for many years. Following my divorce in 1972, I finished raising my 5 children. Then, after they were grown, I cared for my mother during her final years. Since I've been so long out of the social loop, I'd really like it if we could just be friends and see what happens.
I am not wealthy by any means, but able to maintain my house and pay my bills. For extra income, I do transcription work for a law office in town where I worked full-time prior to retirement.
Other than that, I am a writer, with over 200 articles in print. Currently, I am working on a non-fiction book.
My four most memorable vacations were:
(1) a 3-week self-driving (B and B) tour of New Zealand. I was awestruck seeing New Zealand's Southern Alps for the first time. They aren't the tallest mountains in the world, but spectacular as they leap straight up, white crests reaching for an incredibly blue sky;
(2) a 1-week camping and white-water rafting excursion on the Yampa River. Yes, I set up and took down my own tent each day (my #2 son who accompanied me insisted) ... I want to go again;
(3) a thoroughly pampering cruise on Holland America Lines up the Alaskan archipelago;
(4) a photo journey to California desert areas during one unbelievable blooming season after an unhead-of 4 inches of rain; and
(5) a trip with a group of photographers to the eastern side of the Sierra and Mono Lake where, standing in the pre-dawn freezing marshes on the west side of the Lake, I was able to capture the sun's starburst as it crested the mountains east of the Sierra.
In short, I enjoy both being pampered and roughing it. When I am at home I'm usually in jeans and t-shirt. I clean up very well when the occasion calls for it. I do know how to dress, but I prefer being casual. I can be silly, serious, committed, loyal and even possibly loving with the right person.
Further, I can only be what I am, a reasonably good looking (for 79) woman who appears younger. I am not interested in someone more than a couple of years younger than me because they would expect me to "keep up" ... sometimes I just can't.
I'll find you most interesting if you are in love with and enjoy life in general. You should also have a good sense of humor, and laugh easily and well. You should also be non judgmental, and so sure of your manhood that you can afford to be vulnerable and gentle.
You should enjoy eating out once in awhile, but like staying in just as well. Please say you'd enjoy exploring the nooks and crannies of nearby locations, and look forward to new adventures in farther away places.
I've already marked several items off my personal bucket list:
(1) when 13, I saw the Perseids when they passed so close to earth one could almost reach up and touch them;
(2) thrilled to Halley's comet; and
(3) saw and heard the awesome, explosive, thunderous sound of an iceberg calving.
I've yet to see: Northern Lights, Bay of Fundy during an incoming tide, the deep reaches of the Amazon, or gone on an African photo safari ... and ... it's been years since I've been to Disneyland.
You should be interested about the world in which we live, like to read, content to spend an occasional quiet evening reading. Sometimes we might simply watch TV, or enjoy time in the company of family or friends.
It's OK if you carry some extra weight. So do I. I'm working out at a gym 2-3 times a week. Maybe you could join me. Let's get fit together.
So, can we be friends?
