My three children are in their 30's, stable in their jobs and relationships and they are accomplished at taking ownership for the challenges in their lives. I just concentrate on enjoying them and my grandson; I may not be the wealthiest person, but my family makes me feel rich!
I believe my friends would describe me as serious and focused, but I love to make people laugh. I have been known to punk my children, i have done so often they cautious when dad is trying too hard to get them to do or try something new. I am fortunate to enjoy good health blessed with good genetics from my grandparents all of whom lived well into their 90?s. I try to keep reasonably fit; my exercise a regiment is random mixture of hiking, biking, bowling, gardening, fishing, and occasionally working out. I enjoy the company of unpretentious people who are self-assured, confident and sensitive to the environment and humanity. I am convinced that the journey is the essence of a relationship and the destination immaterial.

Enjoy beach combing, tide pooling, watching the "dawn patrol" (flight of Pelicans, wingtip to wingtip, wind surfing above the waves). I like to be aware of my surroundings; examining, observing, studying and checking things out. I'm easily entertained!

Everything I do now is when I want to, how I want to and how many times I want to. Physically I will be needing a hip replacement that I wore out due to running 5 miles every other day about 20 years. I will be fine after that. I live on 2 acres about 10 miles south east of Placerville (We get some snow). I use to breed Jack Russell Terriers. I still have 2 JRT's.

I am a committed Christian, [practicing, but far from perfect] attend worship weekly, as well as involved in other activities with my “church family”. I live in the mountains about 10 miles north of Placerville, on about 3 acres, overlooking a small lake (large pond?) and the El Dorado National Forrest. I am thankful for good friends, and a peaceful, rewarding life. Traditionally, I am fiercely loyal to my friends, a Lover of life, and people, yet still require some solitude (shared with the right one, perhaps). I am a fairly good communicator, (for a male of the species lol) and noticeably romantic on, even, a daily basis. Not a couch potato, travel is a passion for me, I enjoy road trips both short and long, (in 2001, I rode AMTRAK around the U.S. and into Montreal & Quebec City.) May of 06 found me on a motorcycle [Honda Goldwing – not a Harley LOL] trip to Chicago to visit sister and her family. (I had intended to ride the Lewis & Clark route back to the coast, but weather did not cooperate so came directly home via interstates 70 / 80). Last Summer (Aug) I took the bike up through Id., Mt. & rode the hwy to the sun, in Glacier, and back home through Wa. And Or. (2800 mile trip) I enjoy cooking, (entertain in my home fairly often, cooking dinner, most frequently, for "couple" friends). Love music (classical, opera, Dixieland Jazz, Celtic, to name a few), enjoy ballet (generally the Sunday matinee), dining out, not much for television (am I the only American male that does not like watching football? lol,) I read a lot mostly for enjoyment but some for personal growth as well. I enjoy flying, living in a community where the property owners have our own private airstrip. A few weeks ago, (April 09) I “rescued / adopted” a German Shepherd, and it is good to have a dog/pal again after several years. I enjoy wine tasting, being a red wine aficionado I also help some fiends of mine who own a local winery with their special events. Summer Is just around the corner, and I look forward to the increased opportunity for rood trips both in the car, and on the bike and it would be wonderful to have that special lady to join me in my treks.
