I’m a tall, thin, average looking guy who may have passed you on the street today giving you a smile and a nod. If that happened you probably didn’t give it a second thought but I’m out there looking for a special woman with whom to share my life. It’s difficult to know how to rebuild a life with a new partner when we all have full and busy lives. Long ago chemistry came first and then we fit the details of a burgeoning relationship together as we went. Those things seem to be reversed in this phase of at least my life.
I consider myself an easy going person who is accepting the differences in people. I try to focus on what is important in a relationship or situation and try to let the rest go. I tend to see the positive in a person instead of fixating on their weaknesses or their blind spots
.
I have simple tastes. I prefer well prepared simple food and good conversation between friends. I prefer not to be in large noisy crowds because it makes it difficult to concentrate on the people I’m with. I’ve spent the bulk of my free time outdoors. I like most styles of music and would love to learn to dance as opposed to what we did in the 70’s and 80’s. I fear I have two left feet.
I tend to relate to the world first physically and then on an emotional-spiritual level. I like to work outside in the sunlight though I’ve spent most of my professional life working indoors in a medical clinic. I love to surf, to ride a bike, to work in the garden, to hike and camp. Like a kid I love to play outside, it connects me to the earth to life.
I spent my 60th birthday surfing in Costa Rica. I mention it for two reasons. First, I’m healthy and strong enough to surf in such a place at my age. The other reason is that I want to find someone with whom to share my adventures and of course I want to be a participant in theirs. The person I’m seeking would have to be OK with going to out of the way places. I’ve mostly traveled to ocean destinations where there is surf, but I’m open and willing to try new things and see new places.
I’ve been legally separated for three years. In that time I’ve learned a lot about what I value. What we do now, in this moment, and how we can connect with others and the world is of utmost importance. Nothing is simply given to us, it takes work. I wish to embrace my present and future with the love, honesty, and intensity it deserves.
I’m 6-foot 2-inches tall (I used to be almost 6’3”). I weigh 190. I’m in excellent health as evidenced by the fact I take no medications. I practice yoga. I love to work with my hands. I cook almost everything I eat and think that cooking can be an expression of love. I read a lot and work way too much.
If you’re seeking a relationship with a quiet man, who may not be the best looker but whose is healthy and strong, whose motives are clear, who cares about people and things, who wishes to live in the present moment, who seeks to be fully present for his loved ones; then I may be what you seek.

Meet a man from California, United States. I enjoy so many things. Tomales Bay at twilight. A perfect little hotel in the upper East Seventies in Manhattan. The Sonoma Wine Country in September. Walking through Mayfair in London. Watching the deer eat my plants in my garden on a cool, foggy morning. Listening to Artur Schnabel play a Beethoven piano sonata. Reading a Donald Westlake mystery.Very different, but these are things that bring joy to my life.
Half of me is still a country boy. When I was growing up, Sonoma County was still an agricultural community, rather than a series of tourist areas and bedroom communities. I miss the small town life, but I appreciate the new sophistication.
I also miss the great cities -- London, New york...where you can see a classic play, attend a concert, or go to a Cezanne exhibit on the spur of the moment.
Does any of this sound good? My life is good, but sometimes I would like to share the good things, have someone to console me when things are bad.
