I signed up for membership at a yoga studio last year. It's been a long time since I've had a membership and it feels incredible to have a regular practice again.

I enjoy wandering through a farmers market on a Sunday morning picking up the freshest local produce, and in street fairs looking for art, or outdoor festivals listening to music and enjoying the sun, during the summer.
And the festivals: Harmony Festival, Green Festival, New Living Festival, Filmore Jazz Festival. I recently attended Bhakti Fest, a music festival in Southern California. It was stunning: the full moon lit up the otherworldly joshua trees, while dancing under the stars to uplifting kirtan tunes -- totally enchanting.

Meet a soulmate from United States. Match...todays answer to tomorrows romance, long lasting friendship, and many good times. Despite the book that a few friends and I could write about the match experience. I must say...good or bad, I am here because I have met some wonderful people. Unfortunately, I have not yet met the most wonderful person for me. Not sure if it is my pertuding horns from my head or the way my knuckles drag on the ground. Date single man from United States. So I am a Freelance artist who is transitioning back into running a design studio after the economy stepped on the old one. My schedule is jam-packed these days but I still try and reserve the weekends to get out and see what is going on (I mean, have you SEEN the weather lately? One word. Damn!)

Several years ago a good friend got me involved in the TED community, up to including working on TEDxSanJoseCA. I have attended a couple of local TEDx events and plan on doing more when the opportunity presents itself. In a world so driven by negativity I find the passionate, intelligent and insightful people who speak at TED a beacon of hope for the future.
So I have been told I have a UNIQUE sense of humor, to which I would reply that without it I would be out of a job. Much of my art is based on humor (I did make games for a long time). My taste in films runs from classics to quirky as well. I do enjoy a big "blowed 'em up real good" effects film but at the same time I also love looking for odd and overlooked films, especially from abroad. It is not that I am a hipster about such things I just like something different from time to time.
I don't get the chance to read as much as I would like these days, books that is, when I do I have a backlog of classics that I am wading through. I love Dashell Hammett and Raymond chandler but have never been able to finish Moby Dick. My most recent favorite is KOOK by Peter Heller. The book reminds me that I am a charlatan in that I am a native Californian who cannot surf. That is on my list in the next couple of years.
What am I looking for? Well simple, a friend who I can talk to who doesn't mind holding hands or kissing in public. Someone who has a life of her own and is willing to share it, just as I am willing to share mine. It has taken awhile but I have learned how to laugh again and need to meet someone of like mind.
There is a beach somewhere, North of here I expect but it might be South, where you can park at Sunset. You can slide the side door of your WESTFALIA open and pop the top (of the van AND of a cold beverage) and watch the sun settle on the horizon like a nesting seabird. Things which put a smile on my face: Having a meaningful exchange with another person (could just be sitting with them and not saying anything); going to the beach and building sand castles; petting a dog which I do or don’t know; walking downtown to my favorite shops and checking in with the shopkeepers. The older I get, the more it seems to be about the simple pleasures.

I am grateful for my family and my life in general. My parents are amazing and wonderful people in their own right. Don’t get me wrong, they aren’t perfect but I have learned from both the positive and negative experiences with them. I was closer to my mom but learned so much from my dad just through his life as an example. I love my parents and my brother too in spite of our differences. My life, with all its wonder, challenge and fullness, would not be what it is without them. I am grateful for great friends, a healthful body, an amazing career, perfect housing, and most of all a clear spiritual direction. Now, I would like a special someone to round it all out for fun and companionship.
My current passion is the study of Salsa. I am not a kinesthetic learner so practicing this form is a challenge for me. It forces me to move my attention out of my head and more into my body. There are times at the studio when I feel “in the zone” and these are special moments. It is of course my desire to have more moments like this one. In that sense, learning dance is for me somewhat like a meditation.
Recently I was on a road trip with a friend of mine. We were in Lewiston Montana when he almost made the mistake of running a stop sign. Coming from the direction was a semi carrying a load of caskets. The moment wasn’t lost on either one of us. Somehow it was funny and we were both happy that we didn’t end our lives in Lewiston.
What am I looking for in a relationship: I want to feel passion with my significant other but also I would like the emotions to be grounded and balanced. I want an even give and take in all of the life areas which count including power, feelings, interests, communication, attention, and decision making. I would like it to be a synergistic relationship where we are building each other up through trust, communication and true love. I think relationships are an opportunity for personal growth and I would like to avail myself to that possibility. I don’t want it to be just that however.
