HI !! With the weather turning brighter.. it's time for a little spring cleaning.. to include this profile.
So me... hoping to find "the one".. not in a Matrix kind of a way... more Princess Bride.... leading to Marwage...
I am a simple guy.. what you see is what you get (including my pictures.. no surprises)
These are a few of my favorite things:
- My Kids: LOVE their humor.. the fact that they appreciate all music, and respect all people. and the fact that they still love to snuggle every now an again. I also smile getting out of a hot, steamy shower and seeing little hearts and hand prints on my mirror..and all of the surprises that come along the way..
- Music: from RB to Jazz.. I love almost all types of music.. great to sing, dance or set the "mood... I like chosing my own theme music, (EWF Serpintine Fire). Watching my daughter quitely sing while watching a local production of Guys and Dolls,, and playing "what instruments to you hear" when listening to Jazz on the radio....
- Food: I can be kinda picky when it comes to food, but I'm working on getting out of my comfort zone. I LOVE to cook.. if it involves a grill, a patio and plenty of beer/wine/margarita, I’m in.
- Finally, being in love: the memory of that special someone, when you are not together... holding hands while walking down a busy street, wrapping my arms around that special someone.. kisses.. ok, you get the drift.

I'm practically an "Empty Nester" and my grown kids (14 and 17 years old) spend 87 percent of the time with their Mom which leaves me plenty of space to explore new connections. I have the resources to live for adventure and enjoy traveling.

Date a man from United States. I originally grew up in a town of about 20,000 people about an hour and a half outside of Chicago. I always looked forward to living in a nicer climate. I"ve been living here in the greatest climate in the U.S. since 97. As an only child, I"ve always been very independent. I left home upon graduation at 17 to join the Marine Corps. It didn't take long to figure out that I was getting out of The Marines at 21 to go to college.: ) One of my greatest military benefits was being able to visit about twenty different countries.I learned as much from that as I did with college. You can have all the book knowledge in the world, but if you dont get along with different types of people....you'll be at a disadvantage. My parents have been married for 55 years, so family stability is important to me. I'm an extrovert by nature who can strike up a conversation with anyone about any subject. One of my favorite subjects is music. I've played trumpet, drums, and spent a portion of my life as a DJ. I love seeing live bands and I go to The Coachella Music Festival every year. I have a great sense of humor and I'm quick on my feet.. My friends once dared me to go on stage at a comedy club we were at for an "open mike" contest. My joke took first...and it wasn't very clean. : ) I'm very neat, organized, and disciplined. Whenever people see my condo, they wrongly assume I must have a maid. Most mornings I'm at the gym by 5am doing some combination of weights, spinning, running, and stairmaster. I also started yoga last year and fell in love with it. If only I could get as flexable as the girls. I"m very prompt and never flake on people. I'm always early when meeting friends. In fact, they joke that I'm late when I arrive on time. I'm kind, loyal, honest, and straight forward. I love new experiences and trying new things....though I don't see myself jumping out of a plane anytime soon. I'm looking for a girl who shares at least some of these traits. She should be independent and comfortable in her own skin. A great laugh goes a long way too. : ) She should be intelligent, open minded, and have a positive attitude. Love of life, people and animals is a given. They tell me when I'm listening to a great band, playing a game, or just talking with friends, my smile and the amount of fun I'm having draws people in.
I'm new to the San Diego area, having recently moved from Lawrence, KS. Lawrence was recently rated one of the top 10 live music cities in the US, despite the fact it's a pretty small town. I miss all the choices I had there, and I'd like to find someone to explore the music here with. I don't just stand there and listen, either, I like to dance, and sometimes I even look like I know what I'm doing.
I love to entertain, hosting cookouts, meals, game nights, or whatever. I'm a fairly decent cook - when I travel I like to bring home recipes or at least ingredient lists, and try to recreate the flavors for my friends. Family and friends are important to me - which has been the hardest part of moving out here. I have a 19 year old daughter, who's living on her own back in KS, and I miss having the close contact with her that I've had.
I am enthusiastic about the things I enjoy, and invite others along - my core group of friends back home tell me they're falling apart because I'm not there to goad them into adventures, and because I've been the glue that holds a very diverse group together. I have a professional side as well. I travel worldwide providing automation systems for shipping ports. Lately, I've spent a fair amount of time in Brazil, Colombia, and southern Mexico. I'm an engineer, though anything but a typical one. I've had a very diverse career, including a fair amount of work with artists and designers.

Body Type? This one threw me. I am 5'11' and weigh 160 pounds. What is that? My idea of athletic and fit is someone who looks like Mario Lopez. Slender is what i call marathon runners. I don't have six pack abs, and don't have a beer belly. I came up with the conclusion that i am slender. What do you think?
