Date people from California, United States. What I mostly like to do is hike, I like everything that goes with it; dogs, trees, bugs, rocks, creeks, birds, spiders, trail mix and it is especially nice if food and a fire are involved.
Spent most of today thinking about what kind of profile to write, what I like about myself, what I don't, what I am looking for. It was quite a lovely way to spend a sultry December day. Feel a little uncomfortable about joining match but it isn't an adventure without a bit of discomfort.
So, I am nice, try to be kind, hopefully not too high maintenance. I read New Yorker magazine for the jokes and Sun magazine and just about anything else. At any point in time, you can sit me down give me a book and a burrito and I'll be fine for a couple of hours.
What I am looking for? Someone to hang out with, obviously hike, check out the night sky. I'd love to take a bunch of time off and drive cross country. I find men who are flexible, independent, don't take life too seriously attractive. Looks and body type not that important, extra pounds that are from a bit of indulgent is just fine, several extra pounds that affect your ability to do things/your health not so fine. I am small boned about 120lbs.
Some less than perfect things about me:
I will tell you I am not very hungry and then eat most of your food.

Pretty good cook, lots and lots of friends who always make me laugh, have cool dogs, a great little sister and two pretty terrific kids. My job is taking care of people, which I immensely enjoy.
Travel light, like good strong coffee with Clover organic whole milk (a bit of a snob about coffee). Don't have a competitive bone in my body. Don't mind being cold.
I have never seen the Mississippi or the Aurora Borelius but would like to sometime soon.
I am regularly described as unique but that may not always be a good thing.

Every year I travel to Kenya for a month where I teach public speaking at a girls school. I delight in seeing the young women build confidence and skills needed to be future leaders.
I stay fit with yoga, cycling, swimming, hiking, sailing -- while the exercise is important, I also enjoy the camaraderie of racing across the pool or tacking to the finish line. Eating healthy is important to me but beware - those who know me come to love my brownies and strawberry short cake.
I have just moved to a new home, and am looking foward to enjoying a sunset with a special someone out on my front porch.
In the past, I have cycled over the Alps, sailed the Caribbean,and sat in silence for ten days.
