....As a young man I was in the Army for quite a while. My unit had just come back from the Gulf and I was slotted to go to some special training but before that I had to go to New Mexico with my unit. Unfortunately I took a fall about 30 ft off a cliff onto my back on a bed of rocks. Now, thanks to our units fine medical treatment I got put on rest and motrin until we returned to Ft Bragg where they finally figured out my back was fractured! The doctor was brutal! He told me I would never run again, only walk with pain, and I would be medically chaptered out of the Army. Needless to say I was devastated. But a funny thing happened. After the doctor left a PA who was Special Forces tabbed came over to me and simply said..."He doesn't know what's in you. Show him how wrong he is." Fast forward a few years and I'm rehabbed and a Green Beret myself. (Condensed version here) Tenacity is just in my families nature :)
A lot of time has passed since then. I left the Army when my kids came, have had a few businesses. My first one failed but my second one is doing ok. I definately dont live with my planner controlling all. Overall I am a pretty physical person. I enjoy the gym, hiking, the beach....like a lot of people I guess. I dont really have a "type" but if you are adverse to sweating then maybe we aren't a great match. Overall I consider myself good natured and fun. I like a little adventure and can easily be convinced to do something just for the sake of saying I have tried it. My sense of self is strong and I dont rely on other people to bring happiness to me.
I think a first date should be simple and allow you to get to know each other better. A coffee or a drink while talking is always nice although I am never adverse to mixing things up a bit. We can always climb mountains or go SCUBA diving later! Just drop me a line and I am sure to answer...can always use new friends even if it doesn't work out...give it a try, it sure can't hurt.

I have a great job, a nice place in Modesto (live in the country with 20 acres) Im easy going, emotionally secure & very stable. With my wife's passing, it of course threw everything into chaos for a while, but the children & I are now needing to resume living as normal as a life as we can, after such a devestating event.
I would like very much to have that strong emotional connection with that someone special, to be part of our family. My wife was Chinese, so naturally the children are wanting daddy to find a Chinese lady. But, ultimatly, the most important part is that we all just get along & can live together happily & peacefully.
Also, I don't need an instant mommy, I already do a good job of caring for the kids & I also have a good support system from my family.
