Date single girl from California, United States. Howdy.
I'm a bay area native with a highly overactive imagination and a love of dogs, puns, and the ocean. I can be quiet--I like to take in a situation before I react to it. Once I'm comfortable, my goofy side tends to come out. I love exploring and trying new things, but I'm not a frenetic, constantly-on-the-go type of person; I need periods of downtime to recharge.
I have a Masters degree in library and information science which I put to good use in my job as a public librarian. Like a stereotypical librarian, I love to read and I own a cat. That's pretty much where the stereotype ends. I believe in stretching boundaries and keeping an open mind. I compulsively read liner notes for CDs (back when we used to buy them...).
I'm a language and literature fiend: poetry, puns, riddles, crosswords, graffiti, letters, foreign languages and films, books--I love it all. I collect quotes--from music, from books, from movies, from passers-by--from any situation in which something strikes me as beautiful, funny, or weird. I'm also fascinated by the darker side of things--the gothic, the mysterious and slightly sad. I'm not melodramatic, but I do think that the world contains both darkness and light, and I'm curious by nature.
I admire wit and compassion. I'd love to find someone who is as intellectually curious about the world as I am. IРІР‚в„ўm also a romantic at heart, for what it's worth. Sometimes I get the urge to hop on a train and just see where it goes.
I'd like to learn: American Sign Language, how to weave (on a loom), how to kayak, how to make my own beats and music on my computadora, how to keep bees, how to rock climb, how to dance, plant identification, Latin, Spanish, how to read Braille, how to play the acoustic guitar (I know a little bit), and how to see more shades of grey.
