Every year I challenge myself to do something that I've always wanted to do or have been afriad to try (one year I took up rock climbing to get over my fear of heights). So far this year I've done 5: zip lined in Jamica (loved it), snorkled in the Grand Caymans (I didn't do very well thanks to a leaky rental mask and snorkel), rode on the back of a Harley in Galveston, ate grilled oysters and now I am trying onlilne dating.
My mountain biking is done through the Mountain Bike Unit (similar to ski patrol) where we are the eyes and ears for the rangers in the back country. My first year (2008) I assisted on 6 separate major medical rescues (yes, I know CPR and first aid). In addition, I donate platelets twice a month at UCLA for cancer patients (I have just passed the 15 gallon mark).
