My closest friends would say I'm nice, friendly, honest, loyal, trustworthy, fun, down-to-earth, easy-going, calm in any situation, always someone you can depend on. I get along with almost everybody; I'm reliable and always willing to help out. My first priority has always been my kids. My oldest daughter, 20, is in college, married and currently lives in San Diego. I have an 18yr old son, not living at home; and 12 yr old daughter at home still. I tend to put up with quite a bit and usually give more than a second chance, but I will not tolerate a cheater or liar; and have to admit I probably won't put up with a drug user or someone who drinks very heavy either (maybe that sounds like I'm a little 'uptight', but I'm not, really. I just know what I want, and what I won't put up with ~ it's easier to live life without all the bull).
I enjoy spending time with my family and friends: BBQ's, watching movies, the lake or just hangout at home. I like camping, fishing, the beach / mountains, gardening and lately I've always got a couple home improvement projects I'm working on. I'm always willing to try something at least once.
I admit I tend to be shy and quite when I first meet people, but once I get to know someone, I usually enjoy myself at my own pace and have a good time. I'm not one of those exuberantly out-going types of personalities, and I'm not one of those 'fake' girls that flutter her eyelashes, have big tears, cause a lot of drama or falls apart if the world doesn't revolve around her. I'm honest and up-front, if you ask me something, I'm going to tell you the truth, which is what I expect in return. Some people might say I have a warped and sarcastic sense of humor, but I don't mean it in a mean or spiteful way. I'm fairly independent, don't usually ask for help, and I feel a good sense of accomplishment when I can do something on my own.
I understand you have to get to know someone and see if you're compatible, but I would to find a man who is actually interested in finding someone to have a relationship with, not just casual dating or looking to date everybody out there and hook-up; if that's what you're looking for, don't bother stopping here. When you don't know me, I don't appreciate guys starting a conversation off with "hey baby or hey sexy". It's a bit disrespectful to someone who actually wants someone to get to know them, not how they look.
I don't play games and don't want someone who wants to play games. I like people who are honest with themselves and others. I'm more faithful than most could ever hope for. I'm not looking for someone who is emotionally unavailable or has a problem with commitment. I don't mind going to a bar now and again, but I'm not into the 'bar scene' as an every weekend type of thing. I'd like to get out and have fun doing things, but I don't always have to be out there 'doing something' or spending money. Hanging out at home, working in the yard or taking a drive or something else are just as enjoyable to me; as I said, I'm pretty easy-going and down to earth.
I'd have to say I dislike it when people ask me "so, what do you do for fun?" I've been a single mom for a long time, 'fun' has been raising my kids the best I've been able to and enjoying all the time I can with them, it goes by too fast; and other than my kids, it's been work. My family is very important and one of the main focuses in my life, or if you only want to date and not get to know my family, then you might want to find someone who is better suited to you.
