Foremost I am a loving and caring father to my teenage son and my tweener daughter. In addition to my ongoing learning as a father (my own father was a great role model), I can best be described as fun-loving, energetic, socially intelligent (and occasionally regularly intelligent), humorous and sometimes comedic, confident, capable, optimistic, positive, outgoing, friendly, caring, compassionate, kind, grateful, playful, romantic, and well-adjusted.
Professionally, I am a successful corporate and securities attorney in Silicon Valley, a lecturer in law at a local law school, and author of many law publications. I am financially secure (due to hard work and good luck -- without gambling!), generous, well-educated (and sometimes I even do smart things), loyal, and hard-working. I grew up in a stable two-parent household with two wonderful sisters.
I am also a competitive distance runner, a recreational road and mountain biker, really enjoy the outdoors, and am grateful each day for being in our beautiful Bay Area. I love our state and national parks, and like to visit them with my children during the summer. I was out in Zion this summer (2012) with my son (age 16) and two of his friends where we did the 16-mile day hike down the Virgin River narrows, and my son and I have done the 22-mile hike from Big Basin headquarters to the coast and back.
I enjoy good company and social settings, meeting people, and nourishing my relationships. I was amicably divorced after 14 years of marriage, and collaborate well with my ex in continuing to be friends and in raising our two children who live with me.
I have a full and largely fulfilling life with my being a father, my work, teaching, writing, and running, and all of the other little things that constitute the business of life, and look forward to meeting a positive, fit, warm, attractive woman who smiles a lot, and can join me in a relationship where we value each other.
Other random information: I grew up in Dayton, Ohio in a wonderful family. My parents were from the East Coast, and valued education and culture, and I continue to enjoy learning in all its forms (including through books and meeting people), and my teaching is my foundation for ongoing learning, and many of my students have become friends or business acquaintances or both.
I enjoy trying new experiences and meeting new people, but I also enjoy quiet time at home playing cards or a board game with the kids, hanging out by the fire or at a nice wine bar and talking.
My goals are fairly simple: To be a superlative father to my children, enjoy my work, family, and personal time, continue to find positive experiences and people, sustain continued personal growth, and find the right partner to share those experiences with me as I would share in her goals.

Baseball is in my bloodstream and if you truly hate the game we would never work. I am hopelessly devoted to the St. Louis Cardinals, an inheritance from my dad that has given me more joy than heartache, I'm happy to say.
