I have volunteered for numerous groups including Project Cure, Habitat for Humanity and Volunteers for Outdoor Colorado. Very involved currently patrolling the trails of a mountain park system. I spent 10 years on the board of a non-profit which put on social functions to raise funds for children's charities. I also attend or assist with numerous fund raisers throughout the year.
When it comes to play I love to hike, mountain bike (have taught mountain biking skills clinics for various groups), road ride, snow shoe and downhill ski. I used to lead back country skiing and snowshoe day trips for 2 local organizations.
While my tux doesn't get quite the use that my "toys" do, it is always at the ready. I enjoy the symphony, small venue concerts (especially outdoor concerts where you can bring a picnic dinner and bottle of wine) and the theater (whether broadway productions or small local theaters).

I enjoy travel and seeing different sights. My last trip was 2 weeks of hiking in Turkey. I try to take at least one big, international trip a year that is active. Destinations have included China, Vietnam, S. Africa, Croatia, Slovenia and many other locations

I don't really define myself by my job/work (as strange as that might seem), but it can't be denied that it is a significant part of life. I have been successful enough in my career that I now manage a department with 3 separate functions and am responsible for 40 employees. I am who I am (who I've become?), but sometimes wonder if I might be happier if I was the mail clerk and didn't have to worry about so many things/people. But, of course, the job I have pays better. And, with better pay, more doors can be opened. But, I need to open those doors instead of walking on by. Anybody want to help me turn a few doorknobs?
