Date someone special from California, United States. Hi I'm Dan and I'm a native Californian, having either lived in the Southland or the S.F. Bay Area all my life, and I can't imagine living anywhere else really. I've been single all my life and the reasons for that are numerous and complicated, and it's not how I expected or hoped things would go, but I still hope to find that special someone and live "happily ever after", even at this late stage of my life. It's really important for me to find someone I'm deeply connected to. I learned recently that my sister's husband had been cheating on her and, aside from the obvious anger I feel, I am completely perplexed and disappointed by the behavior of some people. I would hope such a thing would never happen to me and would myself not even think of it. Though not religious, I have a strong sense of ethics and moral values. I'm one of the few people who would bring a shopping cart back to the designated rack, as I think doing even the littlest things have a positive influence on others (plus I believe in The Golden Rule, since I had my car dinged once by a runaway cart that someone thoughtlessly left in a parking space).
I haven't had much dating experience in proportion to life experience, so I need someone who is patient and can overlook my awkwardness and initial shyness. I was somewhat sheltered as a youth and always had my head in books. I achieved more in academics that other facets of my life and attended Cal Berkeley for awhile, before earning my degree elsewhere. But it was my experience at Cal that molded much of what I am today. Although I don't agree with all tenets of liberalism, I strongly believe in social justice, human rights, and environmentalism. I also have always loved animals and at one time was studying for a career in biology.
As it turned out, my entire career has revolved around computers and I currently am a software developer in the healthcare industry. Because I enjoy learning new things all the time, I've had numerous hobbies, but the ones that have endured for most of my life are fencing, history, travel, and movies. Fencing, which I've done since college, keeps me physically fit. I also like to keep abreast of current and world events, so I read a lot. Other interests I've had in the past include ballroom dancing, foreign languages, guitar, and writing.
There aren't any specific physical traits I'm looking for in a woman. I'm looking more at what she says and thinks. That you've managed to even read this far indicates at least some level of interest, and that's attractive in itself. Some of the characteristics I value are open-mindedness, intelligence, humility, and honesty. I'd like to develop a friendship and get to know someone well before taking a relationship to a more intimate level.date.

I believe in Karma and so I will always try to do the right thing. Just turned 55 and I was in a LTR with someone that I respect and have the highest regards for. She was my best friend, lover and a wonderful person. We have moved on but I still wish her the best. I am looking for someone that has also shared this kind of relationship. I feel that I have a lot to give and although she was not my life partner, I know that one exists. I love being in love with a woman. Take my advice and pay more attention to your man, it will be more rewarding. I have worked hard in my career and hopefully you have too. I have been successful as an engineering consultant and am financially secure and it is not my intention to work myself to the grave. Many colleagues have no identity other than their job. I believe this is why many of you are here, as your children have grown and you had lost your relationship with your husband as his job was most important. I am the opposite and careers should be in balance, so lets enjoy life while we can. I also have an MBA and have analyzed some numbers. The fact is woman outlive their partners by 20 years and already many of my friends have started passing away. My parents are in their late 80's and are still doing very well with the assistance I provide. You should be looking at your partners gene pool and not his age. I am healthy and plan on being around for a long time and am looking for a healthy partner with incredible genes as well. I still feel that intimacy is important in a relationship and do not require a little blue pill. If you are timid, not spontaneous, not willing to get your hair messed and your lipstick smudged then we would not be a match. I have always dated woman that were athletic, coordinated and physically attractive. We shared things like tennis, swimming, skiing, scuba diving, working out, etc. So at 55 I may have slowed down some but am still very active. If you never were an active person then I doubt we would be a match. Let's stay active, find mutual interests and feel alive. If you are not willing to take a chance and go all in then you would be wasting our time. My intentions are to find that someone I have described and to get on with our lives together, the sooner the better. Date someone special from United States. I heard that you could come on here with any kind of match in mind so I thought I’d give it a try. Though I always wanted to start my own family, I Think I’ve finally come to the conclusion that It’s too late for me. I did spend 15 yrs. raising 3 stepsons, 1 step daughter, so I have some idea what it’s like. I helped guide them through many troubles and they’re all doing fairly well now and would do most anything for me, but it’s still not the same as having my own,since the youngest was already 10 when I arrived. How am I doing after all that you wonder? Well I did reluctantly decide to let an investment property go cheap, ouch! when I determined that the profits I had planned just wouldn’t be there with the economy having been sabotaged. At this point I’d be happy to just get with someone who would like to live in a life style that has some semblance of Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness in a peaceful setting where I could regenerate my own artwork and perform any kind of personal assistance needed by anyone of any age. I’m a very agreeable companion in many ways, would make a great househusband (don’t mind cleaning house, etc.) Or I can, and have been a great caretaker or personal assistant. Haven’t had but a handful of girlfriends, (not into men) Last one couldn’t stand it out here in Boonies so left to be with her grown children, ironic ’cause I got the house for them. Have you heard the true story of the mountain gorilla Titus? Well, mine is in some ways the same only instead of the highest coldest mountain it’s the hot, barren high desert. In his case he waited until all but the very faithful and dedicated wandered down and away. In my case, though it took a few years, I found that there were none dedicated enough to stay. Not that I blame them, who’d want to be out there unless they had good reason. I’m very open to starting anew, My elders have all lived active lives into their 90’s, mom still bowls regularly, Uncle had a novel published, I’m in great shape and eager to share.
