Date men and women from Laguna Hills, United States. its important to note that cali is not my native home actually though I live out here in laguna I travel regularly to my condo in NYC. I miss NY but it was important to come out h ere to take care of my 93 year old dad who is suffering from dementia. I grew up in a large home with six kids and values which transcend religious beliefs as ethics are concerned. Some say, mostly my friends as I dont talk much to strangers who dont know me, that im funny, caring intelligent and seriously honest. I beleive that people have to rise to the place of mutual trust to forge a meaningful relationship and unless it it filled with honesty and integrity as well as mutual respect you really have nothing but some sort of companionship at best. Im very open minded but have very radical ideas about the world we live in and hope that those whose lives I have touched in my interaction perhaps begin to see the world from a whole new perspective.
Meet people from Laguna Hills, United States. I try to live my life by listening to others and listening to myself. I cherish my heart, mind, creativity and sense of humor. IРІР‚в„ўm an artist. I like to write, mostly poetry. I also teach. ItРІР‚в„ўs challenging, fun, and hopefully contributes to keeping the arts alive. I love learning. I read a lot. I listen to NPR, and have been a volunteer public radio DJ. My taste in music is varied--classical, some opera, jazz, 60's, Latin, international. On any given day you might find me listening to tenor arias or Bonnie Raitt on the freeways, dancing to Aretha Franklin in my living room, or running while listening to Adele, Whitney Houston or Latin music. I listen to birds, the wind and silences. My house is decorated with an eclectic mix of colors and textures from antique stores, flea markets, and international travel. I love textiles, ceramics and wood. I have lots of books. It's a great day when the New Yorker arrives! I read it for everything, but especially the fiction, poetry, and of course---the cartoons. IРІР‚в„ўm creating a garden of California native plants to attract butterflies and hummingbirds. It's working---the Monarch butterflies visit almost daily!
I trust my intuition and serendipity. Caring matters to me--intimacy, experiences shaped by thoughtfulness--and beautiful, well-designed things made by hand. I enjoy sharing in an exchange of kindness. Some of my richest experiences have been cross-cultural.
If I was stuck on an island and could only take 3 books, one would have to be blank for drawing and writing, and the other 2 would likely be a good anthology of poetry and a copy of A.A. Milne's "Winnie the Pooh". And I'd probably make room for the concluding pages of "Love in the Time of Cholera".
I just re-read "The Delicacy and Strength of Lace", a moving collection of letters between Leslie Marmon Silko and James Wright.
I like stories---cultural, personal, and really good fictional ones. Whether it's film or books, or some other form, I'm drawn toward narratives that are compelling, poetic, visual--stories that make me laugh, cry, cause me to think, feel and see life in a different way, and take my breath away.
IРІР‚в„ўm looking for a relationship thatРІР‚в„ўs nurtured by love, warmth and sharing with a man who in his own way is pro-active about living a full and healthy life---mentally, physically, and emotionally. I want a loving best friend who enjoys talking about life, the universe and just about anything, and who values ideas, emotions and connections to nature and people. I need to be with a man who treats everyone with dignity and respect, has a generous spirit, who is comfortable with both conversation and silence, and has a good and even silly sense of humor.
I love discovering a new writer and good writing.
Have you read a good book lately that you recommend?
