I am a kind, caring woman not so much interested in myself as interested in others; I think a good sense of humor is essential in this life---if you can make me laugh---which is pretty easy to do---you have hit a path straight to my heart----I love to socialize with friends and family---I love cooking and a good party---I love laughing and appreciate a rather irreverent or dry sense of humor; I am honest--- just about the worst thing a person can do to me is lie to me because I am willing to listen, understand and work out almost any problem; I am generous with my time and help if someone needs me---I will do my best to help them out---I am a good friend; I have integrity---old fashioned maybe but very important to me. I love to travel and I am a good traveling companion---I don't usually have to go to the bathroom as soon as we get on the freeway!!! My fantasy is to RV around this country painting while he fishes or birdwatches or does whatever is his fantasy. I have to admit that devil sitting on my shoulder did tempt me in my youth to really enjoy anything that would go fast!!! I still like fast cars, motorcycles,fast boats and river rafting---I would love to go on the jet boat on the Rogue River---it just looks like fun!!!
This is a new, kind of scary experience for me, but I want to make a new life for myself so it is time to get out there and connect with the world. I recently relocated to northern CA to be closer to my family. My husband passed away rather suddenly in 2005 and I needed to be back home--it took me five years--but I made it! Really, I felt an obligation to try to continue our business,but my husband's dream became my nightmare. Anyway enough of all that--
What I want now is to start a new life while I can still enjoy life. I'm looking forward to the excitement of meeting and getting to know a man who is also interested in pursuing some of life's adventures. As I said "Time has wings and swiftly flies"---this means to me that we have to live each day to the fullest---we don't have to rush--just do the things that make us the happiest and most contented. I know this sounds rather simplified but why not look at life that way? Haven't you had enough stress and drama in your life---why not just kick back and enjoy this big beautiful world---I want that, do you?
I know I can be a good partner for someone-- I was happily married---however, I truly believe that there is more than one person in the world for everyone. All we have to do have an open mind and an open heart---be willing to share and support each other. The getting to know each other is exciting and fun, but the most fun is the actual day to day companionship and caring that develops as you grow closer. Be that as it may, there are some things this "Match Game" has clarified for me.
Some of the things I have learned being on this dating site are: if you are "legally separated" I'm not interested---if you haven't made a decision, or the relationship isn't over, then I can't be involved; if you think the world is eminently ending, we don't have enough time to get to know each other, most importantly, acceptance is necessary to even start a relationship---I am not willing to be made over--it took me a long time to get to this point of self-acceptance; in addition, I may be old-fashioned, but if someone(me) says "Hello" you should answer--even to say not interested---feedback is needed by everyone and besides, it's just polite. I think this must be the teacher part of me talking right now!!! Now that I have vented we can get on with the nicer aspects getting to know each other.
