Date someone special from Grass Valley, United States. I'm very proud of my children and grandchildren, though I don't see them very often because of distances. I would enjoy companionship for musical events, drama, and political activities. I prefer reading to watching television, and I dislike sitcoms or programs with canned laughter. I love to play the piano for sing-alongs or for fun.
Meet people from Grass Valley, United States. I am most proud of my paintings I have done in the past. I am looking for new ideas at this time. I like to paint portraits the most but have done still life and animals, not too good at landscapes. I like to play my keyboard, but get bored with my ability. I don't read music well, but am learning chording. I am grateful to be healthy enough to do yoga 5 days a week plus Tai Chi three days a week. I am working on flatening my tummy on machines at a health club, and to feel pretty good most of the time at my age (80) . I am short and need to "watch it" . I am not "curvy", but not fat either. I am very agile, but have broken a tendon in my left ankle so don't hike up high or steep paths any more. I like to walk with my dog and we do a pretty fair mile. I have had a wonderful life and was blessed to have a wonderful husband and 4 sons. My current social life isn't. Don't go out in the evening since I have no one to go with. Like to go to matinees. I am looking for a friend who shares my political opinions (conservative) and who enjoys music and plays. I am most passionate about being an American and preserving our constitution. I wish I had a friend to go to Tea Party functions. I have seen a lot of the world and am quite broad minded when it comes to food . My favorite garb is denim but I can dress up as long as it is comfortable. I enjoy taking OSHA classes at Sierra college and am a member of a health club. I enjoy being by myself but it is nice to have someone to talk to. I don't look for a touch feely commitment, just someone who is preferably local and would like to go to a stage show or art gallery, drive to an historic town in my area for a picnic, (no camping please) I camped many years. No hunting either, but will accompany you fishing and I will take my sketch book and my dog. I would love to speak another language, preferably Italian and or German. So, if there is someone who can help me learn those languages, it would really be cool. I have taught English in High school many moons ago and do enjoy words. I like to correspond on the internet a lot. Oh, by the way, I expect to pay my own way. I don't expect someone to treat me to dinners, shows and day excursions. These are my perameters.

I worked in the insurance industry over 50 years, and co-owned my own Agency. I Iike volunteeriing, most recently with the Chamber of Commerce, have lived at present address since l975 and love sight seeing all the beautiful and interesting places in this area, particularly the trees and lakes, and the fair grounds where something is always happening.
As for who I am looking for, most important, I would like to find someone who is kind, loving, and caring, is not dominering, and is open to exploring the other's personality and interests.. As no two people are identical, we can learn so much from the other.
