For several years I was quite active in Running ( 10 k's, 1/2 marathons, and 1 marathon...I still ache. ). I backpacked for 20 years, and climbed for 5yrs. Today I like to walk and hike whenever I get motivated to do so. I love to play golf and do so twice a week with a group of buddies.
My taste in books and music is quite eclectic. I have a deep and abiding love for the Natural World and am passionate about preserving the Environment for future generations. I enjoy the Simple Life,but that doesn't mean a lack of culture. I'm at ease with a movie and popcorn as well as a play,concert, museum, or street fair. I like to remain open to new experiences.

I WAS SEMI-RETIRED. ( I BOUGHT IN AS THE PARTNERSHIP WITH FOUR STORES, AND SOLD WITH 14 STORES!) AS A PHARMACIST AND THEN I HAD A MASSIVE STROKE AT 39 YEAR OLD. NOW, I AM A MAINTENANCE WORKER AND 68 YEARS OLD!, FIXED INCOME, MAKING $24,000 A YEAR WITH SOCIAL SECURITY AND SUPPLEMENTING WAGE AT A FAIRGROUNGS.
I WAS IN A COMA FOR 6 WEEKS, THEN GRADUALLY WOKE UP. THE DOCTOR SAID "IF HE PULLED, HE WILL BE A VEGETABLE". I COULD NOT SPEAK AT ALL FOR 3 YEARS AND I WAS IN A WHEELCHAIR FOR THE SAME TIME! BUT, IT DOESN'T MAKE ANY DIFFERENCE WHETHER YOU ARE PHYICALLY OR EMOTIONALLY ABLY TO DO. IT'S ALL THE WAY YOU THINK! OUR BRAINS ARE "PLASTIC", FLEXIBLE, AND NOT RIGID. BUT SOME PEOPLE GIVE IN, AND THE ATROPHY SETS IN, AND IT IS VERY HARD TO RECOVER. BUT, IF YOU ARE POSITIVE WITH YOURS, OUR BRAINS REROUTE'S IT SELF, ALL THE TIME, AND, IT'S CONSTANT UNTIL YOU DIE! NOW, MY SPEECH IS RETURNED, MY WALKING IS WITH NO CANE, AND MY GATE IS BETTER.
MY WIFE, LIN, DIED NOVEMBER 9, 2011 AND SHE'S IN A BETTER PLACE! I NOW LIVE ALONE AND MY DAUGHTER AND SON-LAW IN THE SAME SPOT, BUT TO HOME'S. MY SON AND HIS WIFE AND KIDS ARE IN TENNESSE.
