As a child, I lived in Greece and then later in graduate school spent half a year in the Netherlands and travelling Europe. Santorini Greece, Kauai, Yosemite, Paris, Seattle, Sarasota, San Diego, Chicago, and Kentucky are among my favorite places. I value education and continuous learning. I’ve attended some world-class schools and have an MBA but find I can learn something new everyday and often from the least likely of sources. I have a particular fascination for psychology and the human mind. I am a classic ENTP style on Myers Briggs with fairly good levels of self-awareness.
I consider myself a Humanist who has a strong appreciation for Unitarian Universalists, Buddhist, Taoist and new thought philosophy. I recognize that we each have our own path - Joseph Campbell’s mythic “hero’s journey”. I am not into organized religion or dogma though that has been part of my journey. I don't believe in Hell other than the one we create for ourselves on earth. One of my favorite books is “The Zen teachings of Jesus”. As the Jewel song says “In the end only kindness matters”.
I am an entrepreneur. Renaissance men like Steve Jobs , Ben Franklin, that Dos Equis man, and The Brain from "Pinky and the Brain" are my heroes. I run my own web design and software service business and have clients all over the place. Of course, world headquarters is a second bedroom! Being self-employed has kicked my butt sometimes but it has given me the freedom, flexibility and creative expression that was elusive for me in corporate America. Ladies, please note that despite my mild mannered appearances there is an achiever V12 under the hood that still has idealist notions of making a dent in the universe.
