Dance and music have been a major part of my experience to date. I love photography and enjoy times when I can read. I have favorite authors but am open to suggestions from those around me.
Some of my hours are spent writing fiction, a passion developed over the past 15 years. My stories are very diverse and usually laced with humor as well as the serious. Life's experience has given a lot to work with.
I teach dancing 4 nights a week, private lessons and some performances. I love being able to see the light bulbs go off when my students "get it". My style of teaching makes the student comfortable with bits of humor in the class to lessen the stress of learning something new. Besides dance and writing I enjoy, gardening and play several instrument, the harp my favorite, though I hate to have to tune the 38 strings each time.
Movies are my favorite thing to do when not doing my usual dance teaching or writing. My preference is for comedy, drama but not sex and violence unless it is relevant to the storyline. Things do not need to explode to make a story work. People running around in the buff don't bother me as long as it works with the story, "Sideways", an example of that. I think that's one of the reasons I write. Hollywood has lost the ability to tell a story without special effects and nudity. Mind you, I'm not a prude.
I have been called a hedonist because I love food, art, music and a few things I care not to mention here. Good food and wine with the right company can't be beat. Sharing a moment, if only for that brief time when the sky changes color is a delight that possess no words. A glass of wine, a face I love and the feel of nature around us is the ideal date.
My home in the Santa Cruz Mountains allows me close access to the ocean or the river, both beautiful places to see. When I wander through the forest or along the ocean, it reminds me how inept we are at creations by our own hand. Nature leaves us pale by comparison.

I’m a retired 67-year-old man who lives in the Santa Cruz mountains with two cats. Is the cup half empty or half full? I think the answer should be more about the contents and its quality, less about the container. Does it satisfy your thirst, warm your tummy, give you an “I’m OK, you’re OK” feeling? I’m OK with exchanging notes, and I think sitting across a table with you and a cup of coffee will tell us more about each other in five minutes than a week of back-and-forth email notes.
I’m a medical transcriptionist and technicaal writer, now retired, andcontinue to serve our community as a volunteer with the Santa Cruz Public Library.
I live in my own home in the mountains with a little clutter, most of which is almost in its place. I was a single parent, raising my son from age 5 and my daughter from age 14, while working at IBM and commuting five days a week over Hwy 17. After that, I enjoyed a second career for ten years as a medical transcriptionist at Dominican Hospital.
Who I am hoping to find:
For now, a companion, a pal, a friend ... someone to walk with while exercising, to enjoy a movie, or dinner, or breakfast at our favorite restaurant. Almost any activity is much more enjoyable when shared with a friend.

I walk in the morning at Henry Cowell Redwoods Park, preferring the road next to the meadow, where the deer and coyotes play. I am Northern European (i.e. Irish, German, and Scottish) and, as family legend would have it, a little Native American (i.e. Algonquin, a New England clan).
Five years into my second career, I decided to renew my interest in stamp collecting, so I’d have something to do during all the “quiet time” I expected to have upon retirement. The retirement arrived four years ago; the “quiet time” has not yet settled in. Building my stamp collection proceeds somewhat slower than my ability to gather new stamps for it.

Left teaching to write. Before coming to Santa Cruz mountains, lived in Mt. Shasta where I had a number of spiritual experiences that imbued through the veil to influence the direction in my writing. I also enjoy reading the tea-leaves in dreamwork, which has been a wonderful spiritual tool for me. I love living in the Santa Cruz area, where I enjoy the ocean, mountains, hiking, tennis, Tahoe snow skiing, movies, dancing, dining out, festivals, and good conversation. I am in a dream-analysis group, a spiritually-oriented group, sea-kayak club, tennis club, and an investment group. I am both an introvert and an extrovert with a zest for both. I enjoy attuning to the ocean's sensuous rise and fall while in my 17-ft sea kayak. It's the meditation of it that I'm into the most: to feel so comfortable and relaxed on the water, with my chi-center near the breathing of the ocean, while gliding easily through the teeming seascape all around me. ...Not a prerequisite, but how wonderful to share such a marvel with someone special!My dream partner would be an attractive (in her own way), feminine, and inspiring woman with few flowers missing in her bouquet (remember...this IS a fantasy). She would have mostly resolved the inevitable wounds from childhood and past relationships. Natively, she would abide in both wisdom and sensuality, though in spirit she would be vivacious, joyful and radiant, and possess about her a certain savoir faire.
