I think that it's fair to say that we have given more of ourselves than we have received. We do it out of love and duty. But, maybe it's time to focus a little more attention on ourselves and pursue what we need to make our coming years complete without compromise. Let's see if we can change our silver years into solid gold together.
I'm a retired business owner, engineer by education, enjoying my country life style in Fallbrook, CA. I'm interested in a monagamous relationship based on mutual values of integrity, trust, honesty, humor, good conversation and sharing the best that life has to offer. I've been blessed with good health, finical stability and enjoy many interests and special hobbies that retirement affords me without being an extremist in any one regard. I have no undesirable baggage or hidden agendas to burden a relationship with. My home, good friends and family are some of my most valued assets.
After you have read many other essays, maybe this one is starting to sound like the same old spin. So, let me be a little more reassuring and direct. A person's attractiveness starts from the inside and shows brightly from the outside. Being in our 50's and 60's now and realizing that the remaining years do tend to pass so very quickly, we require a relationship based upon quality and longevity rather than games and lies. As for myself, I have no interest in becoming an on going member of the internet dating merry-go-around. But, to the contrary, I'm looking for that one missing component to make what has been an adventerious and successful life complete. Basically, I'm from the "old school", which simply means that there is nothing old fashion about being a gentleman and treating a lady accordingly to that standard.
I can't think of anything greater than two people coming together and establishing a relationship based upon respect, caring and shared life adventures. In that life is so very precious, I believe that we have the right to expect nothing less in who we share it with. Hopefully, I haven't scared you away, but have given you a ture picture of what we both bring to a relationship.
May 2009 find us sharing laughter and good cheer through the coming years. Until later, take care and by all means, go for the "gold".

He’s not what I expected, but at least he is tall
First my over all look: a cross between a college professor and a gorilla. Gray/white beard, I was going for George Clooney and I got Willie Nelson. I grew up in Fallbrook was very interested in sports and young ladies, not always in that order. Excelled in both. Went to Palomar JC, more sports (football) and then to Colorado State on football scholarship. Got very interested in Art. Left Colorado for Cal State Long Beach (from a bad art dept to one of the best in the nation). Graduated and went into V.I.S.T.A.(volunteers in service to America) (like the Peace Core only in USA) to work in a black ghetto in Houston, Texas. I was very involved in the civil rights movement and the resistance to the Viet Nam war. After a long battle with my draft board I moved to Hawaii to do alterative service as a conscientious objector. I ended up working as a jewelry designer for Maui Divers and did freelance art work for several companies and hotels doing wall reliefs and various art projects. Came back to California and worked as a potter and in construction. Got a Real Estate license and sold houses for two years and then opened my own office that ended up being the biggest in town. Along the way I have been a certified crisis counselor, and a wish granter for Make A Wish. Have been involved with Landmark Education for decades. I have been married twice, the first marriage decades ago for a long three years and the second time for a 15 year time frame that ended in 2003. Am not in the least bit religious but follow four personal commandments’ 1. Be kind 2. Always be honest and have integrity in all personal and business relationships. 3. Keep thy religion to thyself. 4. Always wear clean under ware in case of an accident (that one is for my mother). Iif the rest of the world would follow my 4 commandments we would have a better world. Very interested in Philosophy and love a good conversation. I am reasonably articulate and I am a very good communicator. I like to cook and am a good kisser. Did you just hear what I said? I like to cook and am a good kisser. It would be hard to get much better than that ladies? Oh, I am not broke…well, it just got better.
Ideal match for me would be with a lady that was easy on the conversation and easier on the drama. Just someone who can just hang out with an easy going manner. Would not have to be like minded, I enjoy different points of view. Quick witted would be a plus and poor eyesight an even bigger plus.
I am a little old fashion about relationships. I have always been a one woman at a time kind of guy and I think a slow cook makes sense. No nonsense in the relationship, lots of nonsense in day to day hanging out. I am very comfortable in life and with myself.
