No, not for me, I'm sure it will be the old fashioned "girl in the produce section" at the supermarket type of thing. You know, like we are both squeezing the avo's and make eye contact and BANG, in your own special way, you're the most beautiful girl I've ever seen. I'm a true romantic who sees things in those terms. I found little poetry in the dating web site idea. But I have now found myself here, like you. For me, I do see the benefit of lining up the "basics" as it seems most of the women I meet are truly wonderful people, but often many things about them is "just not me". To young, to old, to something. So the idea of getting to meet someone "just right" in the first place, sounds wonderful.
I've been described as "serious, but personable" and I suppose that's fair in general. Suppose this is a good time to talk about love in general. In short, I'm a "believer". I believe that we don't need cosmetic surgeries and bloated bank accounts, what we need is TRUE LOVE. Think about it. Our kids aren't perfect, but to us they are, because we love them. My eighty-six year old mother is wrinkled and frail, but still looks incredibly beautiful to me, because I love her. The irony of course, is this profoundly beautiful and trans formational power is everywhere, it's right under our collective noses and missed by so many people. Passion, sensuality, intimacy with your mate is or should be, a part of every life. Again, the power of love. Truly amazing.
Can't tell you how many friends of mine have complained to me that they are convinced that their spouse is actively putting together a shopping list (in their head) in the middle of sex. This is what I mean. Enough about love.
I can relate to old rock stars more so than corporate types. Suppose fourteen years (age 15 to 29) as a singer-songwriter, rock and roller, (back in the day) may have something to do with that. As it happens, I couldn't do the starving artist thing and always had (what we used to refer to) as a straight career. So, many (30 ) years were spent in the company of corporate types in the stodgy old Defense industry. To me it was a nessasary evil and made even more so when I made the full time transition to the corporate world to support my (then) wife and children, house in the suburbs,etc. Don't get me wrong here, not everyone has a talent or passion, and my family was and is the most rewarding endevour of my lifetime, the greatest love I have ever known.
Now, after many years as a devoted
single parent, my children have grown and are on their own and dear old dad is wanting to start the next chapter of his life with all of the wonder and excitement he had has a young man.
