Last nights memory in the East Village with friends for Korean fried chicken and beer at "Boka", I check my email Hmmm.. nothing on my flight schedule yet, maybe I can go into the city, visit the Guggenheim or Moma, take photos in the park. Inspired by a couple of photographer's websites I'm eager to shoot from a different perspective. I should make an effort to see the one of the performing arts before the season ends though..
My phone rings, damn.. its scheduling. I've got an Ottawa overnight. Well, at least it's a long one, 15 hours, gives me time to check out the capital and it's canals. Plan B: Stay in and surf Match.com before I leave for the airport. ;-P
Time to make a quick mirepoix and braise the steak I defrosted, take a shower, pack, eat, and catch the van for Terminal A.
Oh yeah! I love flying that jet. It's such a joy to fly and so light on the controls. ATC vectors me to the right and I contemplate snapping into the bank, but I know the "peeps" in the back won't like it. I'm in a right turn and looking straight down into Central Park. Flying is my passion, my own satori.. I don't want to do anything else. Just bigger and better. The East is on the horizon and onto ANA or Cathay where the airline flying is the way it used to be. Here it has lost it's glamour and pay.
Looks like I'll get back into Newark in time to catch the 6:15pm back to San Diego and enjoy my 4 days off.
