Date someone special from California, United States. I'm creative designer/professional with a grounded and passionate personality...and a worldview inspired by Buddhist compassionate ideals. My passion for life is built upon self-inquiry/reflection, spiritual exploration and a genuine interest in people. I love dancing, yoga, tennis, dogs, camping, racquetball, kayaking, movies, eating out, day trips - the usual activities, but with the right person, ones that offer the sublime 'stuff of life'.
I'm also raising a beautiful, independent and thoughtful 12 yo boy. As he approaches teenhood, I find I have more to give my outside world: social life, friendships, community.
I'm seeking partnership: best friends who share humor and passion, and enjoy just spending time together. For me, a successful relationship requires a fundamental comfort zone between us, shared humor and passion - and perhaps above all, two people willing to compromise and hold a generous spirit at its core. I also know that a solid relationship requires a fairly high level of introspection, and a willingness to hold communication as the sacred/central key in navigating the tenuous waters of life/love/partnering. For that reason, I'm more inclined to be compatible with those who've been married or had long relationships before, and have come out stronger and ready to do it again (but better :)).
You may want to play tennis or come swing dancing with me - or not. Ideally we have a few common interests, but I also think outside friends and activities keep us fresh. I'm highly affectionate/physical, but also independent and know how to take care of myself. I have a job I love, a son I adore, friends, family, hobbies and a rich life - but having been both single and in LTRs, I know which one suits me better.
Men I fall for tend to be grounded/authentic, tender/compassionate, very affectionate/physical, love to laugh and make me laugh, are able to be outgoing when called for but are introverted at heart, and may get outraged at the right wing but ultimately don't sweat the small stuff.
If you're looking for someone grounded (I seem to get called that a lot), who laughs easily, loves deeply, and has all the good stuff to share, feel free to say Hi.
