I like the things that I like because they stimulate some ADD side of me that keeps me from from getting sucked into a mundane lifestyle of commuting, work, kids' soccer games, and the preoccupation with all the little stuff that doesn't matter. I have no supply of cable TV in this house, replaced by a mad-scientist-like fascination with toys, gadgets, and anything that I can make with my own two hands.
There. That's the deep stuff out of the way.
The world is a wonderful and intriguing place and I am enjoying raising a kid in it. He helps me to see it from that neophytes' perspective again and I have to admit that I have no shame in being a kid with him. I try to tell him to be on his best behavior in restaurants, but let's face it. I'm a terrible influence (in a good way) and I hope that he will take more of my childish side with him into his life than my responsible parent side. Sometimes, I'm a little too much of the latter, I'm afraid. Maybe that'll be a good thing when he's a teenager.
I'm looking for someone who has their life pretty much together. You have your career, hobbies, responsibilities, and creative outlets already established. You have things that excite you that you want to talk and teach me about. You prefer doing something creative or getting some exercise to watching TV. You adore animals. To be honest, you should probably enjoy a bit of a silly/punny sense of humor, as well. Being normal is boring, so lets get out and be a bit abnormal. You're not going to be bothered by the fact that I'm a bit timid in normal situations and a little outlandish when in intimate company.
To be honest, I'd like to have kids again, just not in the next few years while my son is becoming a bit more independent.
A man in a beekeeper's suit once approached me on the street... and asked me calmly to brush thousands of angry bees off of him. Some curious part of my brain agreed to do it before that voice in the back of my head could interject, "NOOOO!" If you saw this scene in a movie, you'd totally believe that I was a very poorly written character.
I've never owned an umbrella and won't put on a jacket until it's below 50.
Before I was 20, I had been to the emergency room... 20 times. No permanent damage, but lots of good stories and scars. It's not that I'm accident-prone, just... eventful?
