Date a soulmate from California, United States. My friends describe me as youthful, super fun to be with, completely unselfish, and full of the energy of a 25 year old. I am a professional woman in the medical field. I travel across country, about 3-5 times a year, lecturing on my specialty which is Diagnostic Hematology. My attendees seem to love my lectures, saying I am entertaining as well as informative. One has to keep their attention one way or another (these are 2 full day lectures, all by me - boy, can I talk!) I am not a doctor, but I do train doctors to diagnose. I have a medical atlas published in Jan. 2012, and a 4 DVD atlas I am working on that I hope will be my legacy. Incidentally, my 1 photo in yellow is 3 years old, the one with the rose 2 years old, and the one in lavender 9 months old, (IРІР‚в„ўm sitting there next to my beloved microscope. ItРІР‚в„ўs inanimate, but it has given me a good life), and the one in the restaurant with friends was taken in December 2010. The remaining photos are this year, mostly at my retirement parties and book signing.
My house is not dirty, although I wouldnРІР‚в„ўt perform open heart surgery on the floors. I tend to be a bit forgetful when it comes to dusting, but since my place is contemporary it doesnРІР‚в„ўt take much to complete the task. A little Swifter duster does the job in no time. There will be no dirty dishes in the sink or crumbs/ food left on the counter.
I love dancing, laughing, going to art festivals, comedy clubs, plays, the performing arts, out to dinner or the movies (scary, gory movies are out), or just sitting by a fireplace with a glass of wine, enjoying a good movie with a dear friend, or maybe more than a friend. I donРІР‚в„ўt mind constructive criticism if appropriate, but talking down to me is an absolute no-no. Sarcasm, other than fun sarcasm, is not appreciated. Being smothered is uncomfortable, but being simply romantic is desirable. I love Carmel and all its charm, long walks, quiet moments, traveling, classical music, soft RB and jazz. Hate rap, acid rock, or screaming songs that hurt the ears.
My exercising really had to cut down. I did body building for 6 years (no, I’m not the hulk – but pretty slim and firm for my age) for many years, but after being rear ended several years ago by a teen doing 50 mph, while I was stopped, caused some back problems so I’ve had to lay off. Hopefully, by next year, I can get back to it.
My companion will be a good friend first and foremost. Honesty and respectfulness is mandatory, natural intelligence, a plus, He should be a good conversationalist. Enjoying each otherРІР‚в„ўs company is essential. A good sense of humor is a must, a positive attitude, willingness to share ideas, hopes, thoughts - a plus; but a grouch, constant complainer, bad breath and dirty fingernails- a minus. Once a great friendship develops, then maybe romance will also come, if there is chemistry. Friendship without chemistry can be a great and lifelong association. Friendship with chemistry can be a lifetime of love , intimacy, and companionship. One small step at a time is my motto. I may be rapid in step and talk, but a bit cautious in personal involvements too soon, so donРІР‚в„ўt expect intimacies (except kissing and cuddling) for a while. This is the respect I insist on. So if you want sex immediately, I'm not the one for you.
My companion does not imbibe hard liquor on a regular or frequent basis. I have no time for liars or untrustworthiness. We are a little too old for game playing.
But if you need and want a good friend with a great big heart, who is also a good listener and a caring person, with some definite future possibilities, then here I am. I love a good joke, and have been told I tell a pretty good one too (if I can remember them all).
I just retired from my job after 49 years at Stanford. I think that 51 straight years of work is enough. I look forward to a rosy and blissful future. I hope you are the one to share it

Meet someone special from California, United States. I am a musician who loves to dance and laugh. My favorite music is jazz and big band, but I also like classical music and most music. I especially like live music. I am a widow who had a great marriage, but now think I need to be my self again.I am generally optimistic and most people notice my smile first. I like people. I swim and walk and keep pretty fit. I love french food.....and most gourmet food. Traveling is a kick. especially independent of tours. I find the structure on tours a bit much. I have great kids who have independent lives....and fun grandchildren. Friends are an important part of my life. I'm also a member of Palo Alto Jazz Alliance, and what could be a better combination than a glass of wine while listening to music. I don't do as much volunteer work as I should right now, but I do share music at a retirement home. I am independent (pretty much) but I really enjoy being with people. Right now, I'm just looking for companionship. After that?? We never know what the future hollds. When I watch TV, I like crime shows...go figure.
